GCSE English is not “just another subject” for academy and grassroots footballers.

It can directly affect:
• your training time
• your availability
• your confidence in school
• your opportunities post-16
• and sometimes even your football environment itself.

Too many young players underestimate this until results day arrives.

Then suddenly:
• they are resitting English
• missing lessons, interventions or extra support sessions
• carrying extra academic pressure
• while other players move forward, train freely and compete for opportunities.

This FREE English GCSE Masterclass is designed to help footballers avoid that situation.

We’re breaking down:
• what examiners are ACTUALLY looking for
• common mistakes losing students marks
• how to structure answers under pressure
• how to revise efficiently alongside football
• and how strong English skills help across multiple GCSE subjects too.

Delivered by:
• @mrkboison, Founder of Proficient Youth Development
• @yvonneeba, AQA Examiner, Departmental Leader & Researcher

People see Bukayo Saka performing under pressure and assume confidence just appears on the day.

It doesn’t.

Calmness is trained.
Preparation is trained.
Decision-making is trained.
Focus is trained.

That applies in football.
And it applies in GCSE exams too.

The students who usually struggle most in exams are not always the least intelligent.

Often, they are the least prepared for pressure.

The same habits that help young players perform in football environments help students perform in exam environments:

• preparation before pressure
• routines before motivation
• structure before confidence
• repetition before performance
• calm thinking under stress
• focusing on what you can control

That is why transferable skills matter so much in youth football and academy football.

Football development should never only build players.
It should build disciplined young people who can perform in life beyond football too.

This is exactly what we will be covering in our FREE Year 11 English Masterclass with AQA Examiner and Head of English, Yvonne Eba.

We’ll help students:
• understand what examiners actually want
• avoid common mistakes
• structure answers properly
• manage pressure during exams
• revise with more clarity and purpose

Comment “ENGLISH” and we’ll send you the details.

Year 11, Parents…

This is what pressure really looks like.

Not just on the pitch.
But in an exam hall, with a blank page, limited time, and one question that decides everything.

In youth football, players like Lewis-Skelly are praised for looking calm in midfield.

But what you are actually seeing is not just talent.

It is clear thinking under pressure.

And that is the same skill your child needs in English.

Because GCSE English is not just about memory.

It is about:
Reading the question properly
Understanding what is actually being asked
Selecting the right evidence
Building a clear answer under time pressure

This is why so many students revise… but still struggle in the exam.

They know the content.
But they panic in the moment.

In both academy football and exams, the difference is not effort.

It is structure, clarity, and decision-making under pressure.

That is exactly what we are focusing on in this free masterclass.

We are not just revising English.

We are showing your child:
How to approach questions with clarity
How to structure answers properly
How to avoid the most common mistakes
How to perform when it actually matters

Led by:
AQA Examiner and Head of English @_yvonneservices And founder of @proficientyouthdev @mrkboison
So your child is not just prepared…
They are ready.

Year 11 parents,

In less than 11 days, the first English exam begins.

Most students are revising.
Many are working hard.
But a large number still don’t know how to turn that effort into marks under exam conditions.

That’s the gap.

English isn’t just about knowing the content.
It’s about how students structure answers, apply ideas, and perform under pressure.

And in these final days, random revision won’t fix that.

We’ve partnered with AQA Examiner and Head of English @_yvonneservices to deliver a free 2-part English Excellence Masterclass.

We’re focusing on:
• How to approach exam questions properly
• How to structure answers clearly
• What examiners are actually looking for
• How to maximise marks in the final stretch

This is targeted support for students who need clarity now, not more confusion.

If your child needs help performing when it matters most,

Year 11 parents

In less than 11 days, the first English exam begins.

This is the part of the football journey no one prepares you for.

Your child is balancing training, school, pressure, expectations… and now GCSE exams are here.

And English is usually where things slip.

Not because they’re not capable.
But because no one has shown them how to perform under exam conditions.

That’s the gap.

Last-minute revision won’t fix it.
Guessing won’t fix it.

What they need right now is clear structure, exam technique, and expert guidance.

That’s why we’ve partnered with AQA Examiner and Head of English, @_yvonneservices to deliver a free 2-part English Excellence Masterclass designed specifically for students under pressure.

This is not generic revision.
This is how to answer questions properly, maximise marks, and perform when it counts.

If your child is serious about improving their grade in these final weeks, this is the support that makes the difference.

1 Peter 5:8 AMP
[8] Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour.

Teachers and all educational stakeholders, we have strategised enough, it's time to be well balanced. Come and let's pray to God to heal our Educational System. #igniteteach #teacherlife #teachersinworship #educationmatters #prayeriskey

Last Saturday we hosted our very first Passion to Purpose event

All Glory goes to Jesus Christ first and foremost for the success of the event.

Organising this has not been easy at all, but God blessed me with a team of beautiful ladies (@tendaiprecious @_lesleyyw @lauraa.ndengeya who made this just that bit easier.

I am a firm believer that all women are not each others competition because we were created uniquely for a different purpose, but should work together to create something beautiful.

This international women’s day is about #inspireinclusion and ALL women are loved deeply by Jesus Christ who calls us to love (not exclude) our neighbour.

This is the beginning of Passion to Purpose where we aim to empower women to become more confident in themselves, their purpose, their identity, remove those social anxieties and have fun (don’t take life too serious)

Thank you to all the amazing attendees as well , truly appreciate everyone who came out & showed us love

Thank you to my caterer @flavourflames_
Thank you our panelist’s @_yvonnespeaks @priscillaohene_

I want that young girl growing up to know her story is not what society has told her to be, but what the Lord has ordained her to be & be confident to walk in that .

For someone this may be small, but this is BIG. I don’t want to limit what God can do, so we are just making space for Him to move more

Slide 7 is deffo from a video but it was too good to miss lol
