POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

ZZAJ (Jazz) is a self-taught visual artist based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who has been creating for as long as she can remember. Through color, imagery, and emotion, Jazz explores the African American experience through her own lens, capturing the beauty, complexity, and stories within everyday life. Her work blends what she sees with what she feels, creating pieces that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and connect.

Outside of art, Jazz enjoys painting, drawing, writing poetry, and finding inspiration in the world around her. Every piece holds a story—some are meant to be understood, while others are simply meant to be felt.

I don’t feel like calling everyone for their donation $150 towards my “Auntie Day” purse. Just throwing a hint out there 😂😂😂 Good morning ‼️‼️‼️‼️ in @uni_ykthevibes voice.
Sidenote: 14 people should cover it😂 Teamwork makes the dream work.

Last night was everything ✨

This was my very first time hosting a book talk and stepping out of my comfort zone, and it meant more to me than I can fully express.

To be trusted with something like this to hold space for stories, art, and people is something I don’t take lightly.

Thank you to @michaelallenzell for trusting me with this experience. And to @_zzajmai , thank you for bringing Rebel Soul to life through your artwork.
Thank you to @effumuniversity for creating a space where this vision could truly come to life.

And to the vendors, creatives, and the community you are the heartbeat of spaces like this. Thank you for showing up fully 🥹🤎

🌿Baton Rouge, we're returning from the woods and coming to you with Rebel Soul. This Friday 3/27, 7pm at Effum. We'll be talking how the story got to the page and the visuals that took it to the next stage. This is a Louisiana story. This is a human story. This is Rebel Soul.

This Artist speaks HER Truth🗣️

Meet Baton Rouge Based Artist, Jazz (@_zzajmai )🎨

She paints because it allows me to share my story and be vulnerable, showcase the African American experience through my lens, and, lastly, provide her with comfort. Through her art, her voice is amplified!

Give it up for Jazz 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
