They put me in a room with master’s students to give the real, authentic, born-and-raised Austin background context… and we walked out with an award! 🔥 @uiccuppa and @territorynfp’s “Austin Reborn: Youth-Directed Plans to Revitalization” officially scored a Student Project Award from @apaillinois ! 🏆 Much gratitude to @nizmlaverite nizmlaverite for this awesome brainchild idea and pushing me to authentically engage, speak about, and advocate for neighborhoods on the South and West sides. This project outlines a comprehensive framework for transforming Austin, complimenting the community’s “Austin Forward. Together.” (AFT) Quality-of-Life Plan by putting youth in the driver’s seat as the architects of local revitalization. Grateful for the recognition, the collaboration, and the youth who make this work mean something. 💫 Most times it’s the people who works along side you- not above you- that makes everything worthwhile. Again much gratitude to Nicole @a.c_inkdesigns @nizmlaverite and @alvin.y.poon for being a great teammates!! 👩🏻🧔🏾‍♂️👨🏻
