An AI screening suggested I might have ADHD. This is Part 1 of me sharing what I’m learning as I go.
To be clear: this is not a diagnosis, and I’m not claiming one. It’s a chatbot result, and I’m treating it as a starting point, not an answer.
I’m not making light of ADHD. Any laughs here are at my own expense. For many people ADHD is a serious, lifelong reality, and I’m here to learn, not to borrow a label.
Not medical advice. If any of this sounds familiar, an online screener or AI chat can start the conversation, but only a qualified clinician can diagnose ADHD

You’re allowed to want a different view.

Even now. Even after all the time you’ve put in. Even if you haven’t figured out what comes next.

There’s no age limit on choosing a life that feels more like you.

Direction changed. 🌿

First off - thank you @a.joyadventures for the flyer and sorry you are not here this weekend but enjoy the glass of wine while you watch old people chase a plastic ball!

Kentucky, I’m coming for you.

Another APP stop. Another weekend of making questionable noises, arguing with myself between points, and pretending my knees haven’t filed for early retirement.

The plan:

Play smart.
Stay two inches in front of me.
Remain calm.
Absolutely ignore Step 3 at least once.
Laugh about it later.

At this point I’m basically powered by pickleball, sarcasm, and whatever anti-inflammatory is closest.

Let’s see what kind of trouble we can get into, Kentucky.

MEET CHIMP #04: THE HERO CHIMP

She could reset it.

She could dink it.

She could simply keep the damn ball in play.

But where’s the glory in THAT?

Hero Chimp sees a ball below the net and thinks, “Yep. This feels like my moment.”

ATP from an angle that doesn’t technically exist? Absolutely.

Speed-up from her shoelaces? Obviously.

That backhand flick she hit successfully once six months ago? TODAY’S THE DAY.

And when it sails three courts over?

“I HAD IT.”

No. No you did not.

Here’s the problem: Hero Chimp is already living three shots ahead — celebrating the winner, hearing the crowd, watching the slow-motion replay and negotiating the documentary rights.

Meanwhile, the actual ball is sitting 2 inches in front of her.

Sometimes the smartest shot isn’t sexy.

Reset it.
Extend it.
Build it.
Then attack it.

Because great players don’t just know how to hit ridiculous shots.

They know when not to.

SEE IT.
CHOOSE.
COMMIT.

ESPN can wait.

Who’s got a Hero Chimp living rent-free in their head?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which feels like a perfectly legitimate reason to play with pink.
Not that I needed much convincing.
The RAMSPORTS Typhoon brings the power, control, spin and precision.
I bring the questionable decisions, elite sarcasm and an alarming willingness to hit anything that comes within reach.
Seems like a solid partnership.
This month, though, the pink means a little more.
Play hard. Play with purpose. And for October… play with pink.

The fog parted, and the sky gave us this.

I don’t want my photographs to become evidence of what we let disappear.

I want them to remind us what we still have—and what’s worth fighting for.

As a Cree woman and conservation photographer, gratitude means caring for the land, water, wildlife, and stories we hope to pass on.

What’s the last moment in nature that made you stop and stare? 👇. 🌿

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is absolutely nothing.

Slow down. Take it all in. Breathe. Watch the sunset. Be with your person. Stop trying to solve everything five steps ahead.

I’m much better at telling other people to trust the process than actually doing it myself.

But I’m learning that not every moment needs to be productive, fixed, planned or turned into the next big thing.

Sometimes you just need to be where your feet are, appreciate the view, and deal with whatever is two inches in front of you.

And sometimes… what’s two inches in front of you is a glass of wine.

That counts as personal growth.

I can tell anyone else to rest. Be patient. Stop forcing it. Trust what we’re building.
When it’s me? Apparently I no longer speak that language.
Amelia, my high school basketball and volleyball coach in Gibraltar, believed in me long before I could. Eventually, we all have to learn to do that for ourselves. We stop living ten points ahead and come back to the only place we actually have control: two inches in front of us.
That idea became my new book, 2 Inches In Front Of You.
Amelia, I’m sorry I never told you the impact you had on me, and I’m sorry you’ll never get to read this. But your legacy lives on, two inches in front of all of us.
The braver version of you hasn’t gone anywhere. She’s still there.
Out now. Link in bio.

“Tighties are the duct tape my body needs to keep going. I’ve definitely noticed my body’s not as sore the next day, or even a few hours after competing. The only difference is that I’m wearing Tighties.”

Tighties addresses the movement patterns and compensation contributing to chronic and intermittent pain. 💥 While’s also keeping the body working better while it’s under load — extending endurance and helping it recover faster.

APP Columbus Recap 🥇🥈🥈
APP Columbus — that was a good one.
Jaime Oncins and I battled our way to GOLD in Senior Mixed 🥇 and Angela Simon and I came away with SILVER in Senior Women’s Doubles 🥈.
The senior draws may have been small, but they were absolutely stacked. No easy matches, no freebies, and I LOVE seeing the talent and level of play continuing to rise. Some seriously good pickleball and some seriously fun battles out there.
A huge thank you to The James at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center for sponsoring the event and helping make the weekend possible. Pretty special to compete at an event backed by an organization doing such important work.
Then I got to swap player mode for coach mode and coach Angela through her 3.5/4.0 doubles draw.
She and Carrie took SILVER 🥈 — upgrading last year’s bronze, so apparently we’re trending in the right direction. 😂
It was also so good catching up with our good friends Alli and Ike — even if they had the audacity to beat Angela and Carrie in the final. Apparently friendship has boundaries. 😂
Was coaching Angela fun? Yes.
Was it possibly more stressful than playing my own matches? Also yes.
But I love that we get to do this together — compete, coach, travel, celebrate the wins, learn from the losses and occasionally test the strength of our relationship from opposite sides of a pickleball fence. 😂
Sadly, no conservation or wildlife detours on this trip. Angela has to head back and take care of some business, while I’m staying in Columbus for a few more days to teach some clinics before jumping straight back into competition mode for MLP/CSP this coming weekend.
So Columbus… apparently I live here now. 😂
Great battles. Great people. Great weekend.
And we’re not done yet. 💛

Thank you to the APP Tour all the refs and volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make this happen.

And of course my sponsors for believing in me, this sport and this journey. Bc without you it would not be possible!!!

We had a couple of issues with our hotel suite but needless to say front desk remedied our missing conditioner - so if you’re in the Columbus area and need conditioner we’ve got the hookup!!!
