On my way to feed a goat and two sheep at the @quintadascazadoras animal sanctuary 🐐🐑🐑 while guiding this year's Portugal Ecovillage Tour with @ecovillagetours

It's also me trying to find ways to contribute to the transition towards a good future, a thriving future. I don't know what is my best contribution, but I've been finding myself mostly in rural spaces, food systems, ecoprojects, conferences, communication and facilitation, uncomfortable conversations, and, of course, animal rights.

It still doesn't feel like enough... How to find the balance between what I can give and what is available? Between fighting and building? Between caring and challenging? "Is it enough" and "Is it enough for the day"? And hoping for improvements while despairing in the present. The forever questions in the search for purpose beyond myself... Recently inspired by watching @howto_liveonearth

What does it look like when an ecovillage becomes a place for learning? 🌿

Our Greece Ecovillage Tour brought us to Hopeland, an educational ecovillage in the Peloponnese where natural building, regenerative agriculture, experiential learning, and community life come together.

Here, learning isn’t separated from everyday life. It happens through caring for the land, sharing knowledge, working together, and exploring what it takes to create a resilient community.

Our group had the chance to walk the land, learn about the ideas and practices shaping Hopeland, ask questions, and share meals with the community.

This is one of the things we love most about visiting ecovillages firsthand. Each one offers a different answer to the question of how we might live more intentionally with one another and the Earth.

🌿 Our Greece Ecovillage Tour has officially begun.

Our first days have brought us into the mountain region in the northern Peloponnese, where our group is beginning the journey with Liveloula and ReGreen.

We’re seeing firsthand what regeneration can look like on the ground: restoring soil, creating food forests, working thoughtfully with water, growing food, and exploring ways of living that bring people into closer relationship with the land and one another.

Our Ecovillage Tours are about meeting the people within the communities, asking questions, sharing meals, listening to their stories, and experiencing these places in a way that simply isn’t possible from afar.

A huge thank you to Liveloula and ReGreen for welcoming our group and sharing your work, knowledge, and home with us. 💚

And this is only the beginning.

We’ll be sharing more from Greece as the journey unfolds. Follow along all week!

Apparently, a lot of us are curious about ecovillages in Greece. 🌿

When we first shared how communities across Greece are restoring land, reimagining village life, growing food, and exploring new ways of living together, the response was incredible.

So let’s go closer.

This September, our Greece Ecovillage Tour begins. For 10 days, we’ll be meeting the people behind these places, walking the land, sharing meals, and experiencing community life firsthand.

And we’re bringing you along.

A huge thank you to ReGreen, Cob, Liveloula, Hopeland, Southern Lights, our guides Catarina and Mikey and everyone who is welcoming our group and sharing their homes, passion, and stories with us. 💚

These communities are what make this journey possible, and we can’t wait to learn from them.

What if the hero’s journey was never meant to be taken alone? 👬

Odysseus had a crew...and maybe the journeys that matter most today need one, too.

This September 18, we’re setting out across Greece to meet people writing a different kind of story: restoring land, building with nature, growing food differently, and truly figuring out how clear can go back to living together.

And we’ll experience it the way we believe it should be experienced: together.

We’ll get our hands in the dirt, ask questions about what regeneration is really like, savor homegrown meals, and learn directly from the people living in ecovillages. 🌿
