WAKE is an interactive audiovisual instrument, where every note played bends the path of a living landscape. Sounds become terrain, tangling into knots or stretching out. A melodic choice creates a luminous wake — a reflection of a participant’s impact on the environment, until time fades it away. WAKE is a work by @a.m.architect_ , the duo of Diego Chavez (@diego.chavez.io) and Daniel Stanush (@mr_daniel_), whose practice lives at the intersection of music and visual art — blending acoustic and electric instrumentation with film, generative art, and live-coding to open a dialogue with audiences through interactivity, rewarding curiosity and participation with ephemeral works of art. WAKE is on view (& to play) through 10/10/2026 Tickets available at sitesofvacancy.com/dispatch #CoordinatesExhibition #CoordinatesDispatch #Sacramento #SacramentoArtists

“A small building has sat in the center of Albert Winn Park in midtown for nearly a century. Without signage and closed to the public, it has occasionally popped up as a discussion topic online, with locals asking about its purpose. The Art Deco structure was constructed by the Works Progress Association in 1937. As the Albert Winn Fire Alarm Dispatch Station, operators inside would coordinate emergency responses throughout the city. In 2001, the city of Sacramento and the Winn Park-Capitol Avenue Neighborhood Association received an award from the Sacramento Chapter of the Art Deco Society for their renovation of the storied structure, which was still in use into the early 2000s.” “The show is a project from Sites of Vacancy, which, “is an interdisciplinary curatorial agency that transforms vacant and transitional spaces into sites of cultural experience.” The historic 1937 fire alarm station located at Winn Park on Friday. The building will house the art exhibition “Coordinates: Dispatch” until Oct. 10. The show’s name references the site’s history, and each of the works was commissioned especially for the installation, with artists sharing in the net ticket revenue. The works themselves, noted the agency in an Instagram post, range from sculpture to audio and video art. Tickets for “Coordinates: Dispatch” are $25, and can be purchased, link in bio. Ive been working the last few weeks on a really big project. An installation at @sitesofvacancy I got to work with a group of some incredibly talented artists. There were more than a couple nights where a few of us worked into the night onpy to realize the sun had already been up. My install is a projection map across a field of flowers that is spilling out of the IT closet. The flowers represent my last name, Flores. Which is an ode to my dad. And the concept is finding a place where nature meets technology. I used imagery of organs and tissue, bacteria, circuit boards, electricity. Running water caustics, and the human eye, to give movement and imagination to a meadow of flowers under a cloudy sky. I wanted to represent a vision of something familiar in an unfamiliar setting. What if the nature around us wasnt't what we thought it was? What if it theres a different version of things? It's slightly unsettling, but curious at the same time. I put a lot of myself into this. And there is enough detail for peoplw to keep finding new things. And find ways of discovering new interpretations. This video was made completely a.i. free. I used unreal engine to make the world and animation, then did my sound design and color grade in davinci resolve.. or was i really there? Who knows?! Coordinates- Sites of vacancy is going to be running from today, August 08 through October 10. There were over 30 artists involved in transforming an old fire diapatch building, reimagining every corner of the building. Tickets are on sale now. Today is going to be a special night, with a second saturday celebration in the surrounding park including a silent disco. I was really happy to be a part of this, and am excited for the reception. Come out today, or while the show is running and be a part of the experience!

In five days, you’ll finally see what 27 Sacramento-based artists have been creating inside a long-vacant Fire Dispatch Station over the past three weeks. Every installation was created specifically for this site, transforming a historic civic landmark into one of Sacramento’s most ambitious contemporary art experiences. This exhibition exists because artists said yes. Each participating artist received material support, an honorarium (though nowhere near equal to the labor they’ve contributed), and will share in the exhibition’s net ticket revenue. Every ticket purchased directly supports the artists who made this project possible. We’re also seeking a few final sponsors who believe in investing in ambitious, artist-led work. Sponsor by Friday, August 7 to receive an invitation to our VIP Preview. Projects like this don’t happen without community. They happen because people choose to show up. 🎟 Purchase your ticket for Opening Weekend and help celebrate these incredible artists. See you at Coordinates: Dispatch 📍Albert Winn Park #CoordinatesExhibition #SacramentoArtists

@a.m.architect_ x @jakecastro1 📍CONTOUR, 2025 sponsored by @skkdevelopments & @themansion_living CONTOUR is an interactive installation that deconstructs and reassembles form, identity, and sound. A sculpted rotating foam structure frames embedded video screens where real-time facial tracking captures and fragments the contours of visitors’ expressions, while recorded voices are transformed into evolving audio compositions that fill the space.

Through visual, sonic, and spatial layering, CONTOUR invites viewers to encounter their own presence reinterpreted  across shifting surfaces, screens, and sound. The installation creates a landscape of continuous transformation, blurring the boundaries between observer and observed.

I remember the first email I received from @faithsartnotes , inviting me to be a part of #coordinatesicepac back in 2022. For those that don’t know, I only started pursuing my art professionally in late 2021. I was completely stunned by this invitation to join a renowned group of artists in that undertaking. Nearly 4 years later, I still feel so grateful to be invited again alongside this incredible group of artists, including some of my fellow Coordinates alum! So thank you, faith, for seeing me and the value in my work. Thank you for being a champion of artists, not just their art. I hope you will all join me tomorrow at the opening.♥️ Meet The Artists gathers forty-one portraits of Sacramento-based artists, selected by critic and curator faith j. mckinnie. The exhibition highlights leading artists working in the city today-those she has worked with, those she remains in conversation with or seeks to know, and those she contends Sacramento should know. Each portrait functions as both recognition and record, celebrating the individuals who contribute to and shape Sacramento’s visual culture. Meet The Artists opens Second Saturday 12/13/25 7:00PM 📍1501 H Street Sacramento, CA The exhibition will close to the public Sunday January 11, 2026. #sacramentoartists
