my purpose as a dance teacher is not to create amazing dancers, but to aid in the development of kind, empathetic, compassionate human beings who know how to give grace to themselves and others. I want them to learn how to take accountability for their actions. I want them to be able to voice their needs and communicate in a healthy way. I want them go out into the world and know that they have value. but most importantly, I want them to feel safe, seen, heard, accepted & unconditionally loved for who they are.

thank you @_summerofpurpose and to @arichy for trusting me and allowing me to be a part of this journey with you for so long. getting to do this with you makes it all the more special 🥹🫶🏽

🚨 Long Caption..3…2…1

Finally got to process this past weekend and the amount of emotions I was consumed with once I got back.

There are only so many people who truly know my story, and how passionate I am about what I do, and if there’s anybody who knows to a Tee- it’s @arichy

To be brought on board, and included in this years @summerofpupose intensive was such a humbling experience.

My emotions stemmed from so many things; being able to see her operate so smoothly in what God has called her to do, and make things happen, amongst so many other answered prayers. Glory to God!!

Being able to look back on so many things I didn’t think we’d get through, all of the struggles and tumultuous seasons that helped build character for us.. and being able to literally laugh about it 😂

Me realizing that I’ve never actually grieved my past life- the life I worked to build. The hard work, and dedication I gave to New York, the emotional and irrational decisions I made that created the scars to my life’s roadmap.. the friends that became family that I had to leave.. all of my 20’s.. so many things, I actually never grieved, that all came back while I was there. Woo! *tear.

It was truly meant for me to experience this past weekend, to help reboot, and reset me for the rest of this year, and I’m so grateful.

S/o to all of the teachers, my friends + fam. Love yal down.. foreal ❤️ (Ash literally put together a perfect squad ✊🏽)

To all of the dancers: PLEASE continue to make the world a brighter place. Love who you are, and what you contribute to this world, and remember where God has positioned you is important- stay rooted in Him 🙌🏽.

#latepost - Yesterday’s class from @katherineiheke 🔥

.. all I can say is WOW! We literally set the tone this weekend, from beginning to end.. LITERALLY!

Of course @arichy wasn’t going to let her faculty get away with not doing this choreography once we were all together 😂❤️.. love it!
