**WE NEED YOUR OBSERVATIONS. NOT YOUR COMPLIMENTS.**

We are unbelievably excited to launch the Fiona Field Research Unit — our attempt at making better gear by handing it over to people who are willing to tell us exactly what's wrong with it.

We're a small company. We're learning as we go. And while we're pretty damn proud of the things we've made, we know there's always room to make them better.

So we're putting together a small crew of researchers to help us do exactly that.

**CYCLE 001/// — ONSHORE SERIES BOARDSHORTS**

We're selecting four people to put our first boardshorts through real-world conditions. Surfing, fishing, paddling, swimming, running, sitting around doing absolutely nothing. Whatever your version of a day outside looks like.

You'll receive the gear at no cost. In return, we're asking for a few weeks of actual use, some photographs, and honest, detailed feedback.

Tell us what you love. Tell us what drives you crazy. Tell us if the waistband sucks, the pocket is useless, or if we somehow managed to get something right.

We're listening.

No professional credentials required. No follower minimum. No obligation to post about us or say nice things.

Just people who give a damn about the equipment they use.

**APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN.**
Application Cycle Closes October 23rd

Head to the Field Research Unit through the link in our bio.

We make it. You break it. We make it better.

LAUNCHING SOON - Introducing The Onshore Series V1— our first-ever pair of boardshorts.

We’re incredibly proud of these. We also already know there are a few things we want to tweak, which is exactly why we’re treating this first run a little differently.

We’re pricing them a bit lower for a limited time, putting together a few solid bundle options, and asking one thing in return: wear the hell out of them. Surf in them, swim in them, beat them up, and tell us exactly what you love, hate, and want changed.

This is the first version, not the final version. And YOU get to be a part of making something better.

But for a first crack at boardshorts, we’re pretty damn proud of where we landed.

Some things are better made with a pen before they’re ever made with a press.

Our friend @thepermanaatelier put this design down the old-fashioned way—one line at a time. No shortcuts. Just time, skill, and a shared belief that good things are worth making well.

It's a reminder of why we started Fiona in the first place: to build products with intention, designed to last longer than the moment they’re made for.

Built for the generation at hand, with the next one in mind.

Always Forward.

America isn’t perfect. It never has been.

But patriotism was never about pretending everything is fine. It’s about believing this place is worth improving, worth defending, and worth passing on better than we found it.

As we approach the World Cup, America’s 250th birthday, and the 2028 LA Olympics, we find ourselves more connected and often more divided than ever.

This collection is about the union. It’s about remembering that this country has always been built by people who didn’t agree on everything but chose to move forward together anyway.

The stars and stripes don’t represent perfection. They represent possibility.

The Americana Collection. Dropping Thursday.

Always Forward.

$“Rugged Yolk” By Thrifty Embellishments Poncho light denim, pearl snaps button up provided by my friend, @aaronhenderson12 for this custom collaboration • embellished with appliqué material sourced from a thrifted Susan Bristol heavy canvas skirt • made in the USA • a one of one piece 🤙 I was struck by the patterned weight of this material draped and woven into the shoulders of the denim. Life’s ups and downs, peaks and valleys, joys and sorrows are a “rugged yolk” we all must carry over time. Seemingly to me, the best we can do is attempt to integrate these experiences into a deeper understanding, a worldview, a fleeting attempt to make sense of the world around and within us. Pattern recognition is a major tool for me in trying to embrace this. Dependable natural cycles, fractal geometry as microscopic as cosmic, symbols worth a thousand words, daily sun and moon, life • death • regeneration, and all the rest that bring a sense of hope in a complicated world. All this in an embellished shirt? Maybe, maybe not, but an honest attempt nonetheless to echo these sentiments in threaded expression. #applique #sewing #upcycle #patterns #thriftyembellishments$
