It’s a New Year… and the hardest thing I did this week is just about behind me.

I did the eulogy at my mom’s funeral and honestly it was by the Lord’s strength. She showed me determination, being consistent even when it’s hard while also demonstrating real authentic love (faithfulness).. So being able to step up and testify how the beauty of her life resembles that of Jesus and his character, was a big deal and vital. My momma knew what I needed and would bring it home before I called. When I was younger I remember a moment where I was hoping she’d cook one thing and she always cooked what was on my mind. If I was out of something, she just happened to grab it on the way home. We had each other’s back as best possible and when life hit us , we could actually talk out the real and sometimes she’d check me good. It’s the fine chisel I mentioned that is similar to the Holy Spirit. A true demonstration of what it means to be the messenger, the helper, that reminds us of God’s love. That keeps goodness in my heart when I’m upset. My mom is the one who told me to make sure I pray for others and would even send me bible verses when I lacked faith or was in a down place. When I’d want to get mad she’d point me back to grace and mercy. The Holy Spirit is a promise of God’s return and is also the Spirit of the living God. My mom’s death actually reminds me that our biggest motivation is to no longer experience death or sorrow. It’s for God to be united with his people again. It encourages me to know that for in order for the Lord to return and end this madness we HAVE to grow up as his children. No blame game or finger pointing. My mom was 58 and the past few years she started going back to bible studies to be around other women and started serving. Getting deep in the word. Having conversations about how good it was made me smile. I wish I could’ve experienced so many more of our dreams come together and come to life.

Dear Mommy,

I gotchu. I will be who you always believed I could be. I love you and wanted to call you today and tell you happy new year ♥️. I’ll also make sure your project happens we were supposed to do together lol. ♥️🌷

Love your son,

Too-Too ♥️

We might look super cute and collected, but if you swipe you'll see me and Sydney reenacting the moment when we got to dinner and realized that we'd forgotten our masks👀👀
