Hey, I'm Kaila, the lady behind the lens. I capture life's moments, wear a smile on tough days, and strive to spread joy every day. Still figuring things out, and that's perfectly fine. But one thing I do know is that I love photography and being part of people's special day💝

If you haven't checked out @aartherapy_ you should!
@jeronwhitehorn worked hard to create this project that I am honored to be a part of.
Not used to being in the other side of the camera.

Every year, as the calendar turns to this season, the city of Detroit embarks on an extensive period of construction and regular maintenance work aimed at preserving and strengthening the infrastructure that is essential to the community. This annual undertaking serves as a vital reminder of the importance of maintenance—not just for the physical structures of our environment but also for our well-being. It exemplifies a principle that we could all benefit from applying to our own lives.

Just like cities, we, too, experience wear and tear; we face challenges, navigate through hardships, and sometimes feel overwhelmed by emotions. These feelings often illuminate a significant truth: they can be viewed as reflections of the minor maintenance we routinely fail to perform on ourselves. Just as the streets and bridges of a bustling city require regular care and attention, our mental, emotional, and spiritual health also demands diligent upkeep.

Ultimately, the construction season in Detroit is more than just a seasonal occurrence; it serves as a powerful metaphor for personal upkeep. It encourages us to assess our own lives with a critical eye, urging us to identify areas that may require our attention and care. Let us remember that just as we invest in the physical spaces around us, we should equally invest in our mental landscape to foster resilience and promote overall well-being.
