Back to Saturday morning outdoor runs, and what a great way to spend the day in the company of wonderful friends and fellow runners from various communities.
10K Morning run with the @run4apurpose team at the Dubai Canal, followed by ☕️ with @afhickman11 , a work-related meeting, and wrapping up with an epic 🥩 feast at @bigtbarbecue with the @sydney_marathon Dubai crew.

They say you become the company you keep.
If that’s true, I am incredibly lucky. 🤍
I am surrounded by phenomenal humans. People who don’t just run, but eat, sleep and breathe it. People who wake up before the world does, train when no one is watching, sacrifice, endure, practise, struggle and somehow keep showing up.

I’ve watched them at World Majors from the sidelines. I’ve seen the smiles, the pain, the doubt, the determination and that beautiful moment when someone finds just a little more strength to keep going. Somewhere along the way, I’ve realised I learn from them far beyond running.

I see mums who are mothers, wives and daughters, yet still fiercely hold space for a passion that belongs entirely to them. Partners who juggle careers, homes, families and dreams. Friends who become brothers and sisters, standing beside you when you need that last little push.

And then there is this incredible camaraderie.

People holding signs. Holding mirrors. Running beside one another. Cheering for someone else’s finish line as fiercely as their own.

There is no prize waiting at the end of 42.2 km. No podium for most of them. Just the quiet, powerful knowledge that you tried. That you pushed beyond yesterday’s limits. That you endured something difficult and found immense joy on the other side of it.

Imagine carrying that into everyday life.

To keep showing up.
To keep choosing your passion.
To cheer for others.
To push a little further than you thought you could.

What a wonderful, glorious way to be.

So, to my favourite humans running the Sydney Marathon tomorrow, including a few absolute global legends who, despite everything they’ve already achieved, are still willing to toe that start line and take on another 42.2 km…

I’ll be cheering from the sidelines.

Proud of you. Inspired by you.
And grateful to know you. 🫶🏼🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Wrap up time…

Utterly grateful to the universe for everything - the people, the experiences, the challenges, the learning, the abundance.. for making everything possible.

Medal Monday. 🪽

Designed by Egyptian artist @hadyboraey, the 2025 Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon medal tells the story of the ancient Egyptian goddess Nekhbet, reimagined as the runner, soaring above the Pyramids on a journey through history.

On the back, one tradition remains:

“I Raced Through History.”

A signature detail featured on every medal, making every finisher’s achievement part of a tradition that continues year after year.

We've always known them as runners — the ones who show up before sunrise, chase finish lines and inspire us with every mile they run.

But beyond the running shoes and race medals is a softer, lesser-seen side that means even more—being "Dad". ❤️

For every kilometre they run, they're also building a lifetime of memories.

Teaching resilience without saying a word. Showing us the value of consistency. And proving that some of life's greatest lessons aren't taught, they're lived.

Because the most important race isn't the one on the calendar.

It's the one they run every single day—as fathers, role models, and the people we look up to most.

We had the best time making history.. running Africa’s First World Marathon Major even before it was declared one! In the stunning mother city of #capetown.

We pulled out all the stops to make this an unforgettable experience for everyone and are forever grateful to everyone who believed, risked, trained and showed up. We can’t wait for June 11, when the fabulous @capetownmarathon will join the coveted @wmmajors

One thing we gotta say: the coolest people travel with Active Holiday Company. 🔥💪
