There is something profoundly magical about taking a leap of faith, especially when it involves carrying the flavors of a distant land to a new city. Our maiden journey with the Travelling Table landed in the beautiful city of Chandigarh, and my heart is still full. Stepping out of my comfort zone to host this experience was a whirlwind of nerves and excitement, but seeing the way the vibrant, tangy, and soulful notes of Burmese cuisine were embraced made every moment worth it. This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the incredible @mitamkumar . Opening up your home and kitchen is no small feat—doing so while managing the boundless energy of a toddler is nothing short of heroic! Your support was the secret ingredient that made this evening so seamless and special. They say hosting is an art, but I’ve learned it’s actually a bridge. There is an incredible pulse in opening your door to a face you’ve never seen and welcoming them into your home. This past weekend, I traded the "usual" for a beautiful leap of faith, hosting another group of strangers for a deep dive into the flavors of Burma. I didn't know who was coming, and they didn't know what was hitting their plates—and that mystery is where the magic happens. Watching a room full of strangers bond over aromatic warmth of Burmese spices was a reminder of why I do this. The joy wasn't just in the cooking; it was in the connection. To see my guests embrace a cuisine they had never experienced and leave as friends is exactly why hosting isn't just about the money—it’s about the stories that connect food and people. A huge shout out to my co host for the evening @anjali_gurbani this couldn't have been possible without you girl ❤️
