hey friends! i’d love to invite you all to the debut of my art show “Don’t Forget About Us” this coming Saturday, 17th of October, at Abacus Row.

displayed will be the illustrations i made during my seven weeks inside Cal City Detention. i will present the show and hold Q&A about my experience between 1 and 4pm on Saturday.

donations will be accepted for the detainees at Cal City to help them with phone bills, commissary, lawyers’ consultations and other immigration fees.

this show is a part of a rotating exhibit that will be taking place around Bay Area throughout the next few months. the urgency is obvious if you’re keeping up with the current state of this country and California in particular. any amount of funds donated is vital and greatly appreciated!

and lastly, since my birthday was on 17th of September, debuting the show exactly a month from it seems extra special. if you ever wanted to get me a gift - please make a contribution towards the fundraiser for my girls.

Ceramic works by @ahnleestudio making the space feel particularly special. You can now find a batch of Ahn’s sculptural and functional ceramics in the shop.

Thank you, @abacusrow, for having me at your lovely Mid-Autumn Moon gathering ❤️ And a big thank you to every customer who let me snap their photo. You’re now part of the content strategy of a dessert lady who is much better at making fresh grass jelly than making reels. 😅

Christine’s studio is not just a beautiful shop where jewelry is crafted in-house. It’s a gathering place for the SF community and exactly the kind of space that makes this city special. So grateful to everyone who came out: friends, favorite customers, and so many new faces.

New stockist is an absolute dream, @abacusrow ❤️

I stumbled upon @abacusrow during the pandemic, when Covid had me perusing Instagram for inspiration. It's easy to be a fan— beautiful, unique, thoughtfully designed jewelry alongside a mindfully curated collection of goods from artists and makers in the US and beyond. It feels like a breath of fresh air every time you step inside their space— I love that I'm able to discover pieces I don't normally see in other stores.

This year, I scaled back for meanigful growth; picking makers, venues, collaborators, and stockists not only for their style and eye for design but of equal importance their values and principles. I want to be part of stores whose values resonate with mine– what they are vocal about, what they stand for, how they bring a community together means just as much to me as how they curate their work and design their pieces. @abacusrow has been a dream stockist for years now, but I've also never been one to just ask nor hand my work to stores before a real connection is made. Somehow, that connection happened when I chanced upon its owner, Christine a few months ago in the store. I bought a top and she happened to notice my scarf and for that I will always be grateful. ❤️

I could not ask for a sweeter almost 6th Lu France birthday win than having @abacusrow as my new stockist (and only stockist in San Francisco).
