My goal is to sell 400 tickets to THROWBAX by November 21st and I’m taking y’all along for the whole ride. That means 40 TICKETS A WEEK. 👀🔥

And yes… I’m gonna keep you updated EVERY WEEK until we PACK THIS PLACE OUT. 😂

But this is bigger than just our show.

When we show up and fill seats for local arts organizations, we show that OUR COMMUNITY WANTS TO SEE LOCAL ARTISTS ON BIG STAGES. We create opportunities for more dance companies, more artists, more organizations and more community-driven productions to get access to spaces like this.

And THROWBAX?! BABYYYYY. 🔥🔥🔥

We’re taking you straight back to the GOLDEN ERA OF HIP HOP 🔥the music that raised us, the culture, the energy, the nostalgia. This is not just another dance show, IT’S AN EXPERIENCE WE ARE SO EXCITED TO CREATE ✨

So Eugene… HELP A SISTA OUT. 😂

400 tickets sold by November 21🙏🏾

I JUST FINISHED MY 12TH YEAR AS A STUDIO OWNER🫪🙏🏾🥰

What started out as a dance studio has become an EMPIRE that I had no idea would exist when I first began.

I began with literally NOTHING. I had lost my mom, gone through divorce, I had no start up cash, I had zero students and I had just moved back to Eugene after being gone for a long time. I also had the weight of a previously failed dance studio business on my shoulders and the pressure of making it work this time because I had no other options. And two small kids… and literally what you see in this picture is it. Nothing fancy, just GRIT.

I was built for this. I have been doing this in some capacity since I was a child. When people run into me from the past, they often say how amazing it is that I am doing exactly what I said I would do. I usually laugh and think about how this life chose me, and my purpose has arisen from the journey @xcapedanceacademy has taken me on.
People told me I couldn’t run a dance studio and have a dance career. I think that may be true for most people, but not for me. Since I began, I have been on some of the best stages around the country, been on TV, danced with celebrities, done music videos, won awards, been in commercials, been nationally recognized, danced with artists, been in magazines and on the sides of busses and billboards… the list goes on. The point is, what looks impossible for someone else is none of your business. ONLY YOU KNOW the vision instilled in your heart by the universe, and the rest of it is noise. Listening to the opinions of others would have taken me off the course of this great existence where I have had the ability to do EVERYTHING I have dreamed of, and I am not done yet. It is my greatest joy in life to continue to give to this community while also pursuing my dreams and being an example of WHAT IS POSSIBLE.
Going into season 13 has me really thinking about how important it is to be willing to reinvent yourself. To be willing to adapt, to do it differently, to see it with fresh eyes, and to not be afraid of change. Season 13 LOVES to see me comin🔥🔥🔥 Hungry, thirsty, and READY FOR DESSERT💯

In the back rooms. Cubicles. Liminal spaces. A work environment used to exist. Where did it go? What did it mean? Where do we work now, exactly?

Inspired by @hospital.of.emotions @meow__wolf and @letshopscotch I have begun the process of building out a HUGE installation project for late 2027/early 2028. This pop up attraction will incorporate lots and lots of artists, volunteers, community partners and technology creatives.

My first step is finding a location. Can you help me? Tell anyone who will listen that you want an immersive, interactive, art destination in Eugene. Let's activate one of these empty buildings downtown!

Please help me spread the word by sharing, tagging and commenting with your support.

I'll keep you posted on my progress, friends.

AUGUST ART INSPO: Looking for some late-summer artistic inspiration? Submissions to the 2027 Mayor’s Art Show are due by September 30. Local artists can more about how to submit recent work (2D or 3D) on the City of Eugene’s website—we would love to see the projects that have captured your imagination.
