At the heart of SIPF lies the Portfolio Open Call, a cornerstone that, across every edition, has sought to surface new voices and illuminate the ever-evolving landscape of photographic practice. Free from thematic constraint, the International Portfolio Showcase is shaped entirely by the artists themselves: the works they are compelled to make, the questions they carry, and the perspectives they bring to a world in constant flux.

This year, we received 416 submissions from 56 countries, a remarkable testament to the reach and vitality of contemporary image-making. For this milestone 10th edition, 20 portfolios from 16 countries have been selected, each a distinct vantage point into the preoccupations and imaginative reach of photographers today.

On August 19th 1839, the announcement of the Daguerreotype - the first practical photographic process - was declared a free gift to the world by the French government, sparking a global revolution in visual storytelling.

We’re celebrating that legacy with a closer look at the extraordinary works on display in Ground Floor Galleries 1 & 2.

Our concept-based collaboration project, Alchemy of the Unknowns @alchemy.of.the.unknowns,was awarded a solo exhibition spot at Texas Tech School of Art’s SRO Photo Gallery for the 2026-27 season, among some amazing artists on the list—including Vaune Trachtman @vaune.art, Abbey Hepner @abbeyhepner, and Eric Kunsman @eric_kunsman .

The Alchemy of the Unknowns show (Nov 18 to Dec 13) will feature 24 images, some presented in diptychs. Our largest panorama image will be 24x48 inches.

This is the very first solo show for our project, which started in 2023. We are beyond excited. Thank you so much to the SRO Photo Gallery and to the jurors who selected us. It is such an immense opportunity and honor.
