💧 Sacral and Sacred 💧 was 🌀 juicy • playful • abundant • wholesome • in flow • supportive • embodied • explorative • trusting • comforting • expansive • connecting • sensual • magical 🌀

We had an amazing group of women join us this year, and amazing souls participate in leading workshops and holding space. Our time together consisted of more than body art, yoga, dancing, and practices - it consisted of chatting with the comfort of knowing the women around you were not only -not- judging you, they were wholeheartedly holding and supporting you. It consisted of learning to listen to our bodies even just a little bit more, of honoring the creativity that wishes to pour from us. 💦

This was a beautiful event to birth… and the integration and community afterwards has been so supportive. Friendships were made, realizations were had, invitations to soften, to allow, to honor were given. The seeds to choose what aligns were planted. 🌱🧚🏼

Next year I am honored to welcome my sisters back for Solar & Sovereign 🌞 a dive into our solar plexus chakra. I’ll share a link shortly to get insight on the date that works best for those in the community, and if you’ve been looking for sisterhood or to honor your confidence and expression, I’d love to have you. 🍊

Thank you thank you to the women who trusted me to hold them for the weekend and provide for them, I am forever grateful for the kindness, creativity, appreciation, and divinity that each and every woman brought. 🌺🪷

I’m grateful for all of it, and especially for the women who make these moments matter.

Foray Cincy was created for exactly this: a space where women can connect, try new things, be themselves, and feel a sense of community that lasts beyond the moment.

Samhain Ceremony 🍂🕯️

What is Samhain? — It is a Celtic festival that marks the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter, celebrated from October 31st-November 1st. It’s is a time when the veil between the physical and spirit worlds is believed to be thin, making it a time to honor the dead and for divination.

Ways to Celebrate:
🔥 Light a bonfire to symbolize the triumph of light over darkness
🥘 Host a Samhain feast to celebrate your harvest and the past year
💞 Honor our ancestors and build an altar with mementos from the deceased
🍁 Take a walk and observe the natural world, reflect on death and rebirth, and gather natural objects like leaves or sticks for your altar.
📝 Write things you want to release on a piece of paper and safely burn it

For Brayden’s first time backpacking we chose the hardest trail in Ohio - the challenge, complete all 26 miles before noon on Sunday to be back in time for an event. The intention, to be present, listen to our bodies, not feel hostage to the challenge, and do at least half of the distance. We knew it was crazy hilly, and that our packs weren’t optimized, and we didn’t get to head out until 5 pm on Friday, so it wasn’t likely that we’d finish the 26.

And we didn’t. But we did fulfill our intentions. We connected with nature, saw what our bodies were capable of, were reminded what we needed and didn’t need, thanked the land, fire, water, trees, pachamama, animals around us for letting us use them, and spent time in what we coined “our original home”.

We got to witness life happening without interruption. Acorns playing a ballad as they dropped through the oak branches and settled their way into the fall leaves below. Lions mane, chicken of the woods, jack-o-lantern, and other mushrooms. We saw staghorn sumac, more oaks than we knew existed, hemlock trees, native wildflowers, and so much more.

We’re now already planning the next one and planning our volunteer schedules 😂💃🏼 our next goal is to continue section hiking the buckeye trail, and sometime do all 26 hilly miles! Gratitude gratitude gratitude 🌞😌

When you’re surrounded by people who are vulnerable, you aren’t afraid to be yourself.

I felt a nudge when I was in Mexico telling me to fly home earlier and to go to this retreat that my lovely friend Abbi was hosting.

I honestly don’t know shit about chakras and it was a weekend all about the root chakra. I didn’t initially resonate with the topic of the retreat or really fully understand anything that was going to happen, but I went with my intuition and signed up to go anyways.

I truly trust my inner voice/gut when it tells me to do something because I know that the there’s a reason that the Universe put it there. This allows me to go in with an open mind eager to discover the reason.

And that reason was the people. I have never been surrounded by SO MANY open, vulnerable, supportive, welcoming and non judgmental women in my life. This truly allowed me to fully be myself throughout the weekend and put down my walls and be completely and utterly myself.

I intentionally turned off my phone the whole 4 days which stirred up some anxiety within me but it was also so freeing. I captured a few photos with a digital camera and the rest are from other peoples phones and cameras.

I know this weekend planted such an important seed in me to continue to be fully myself outside of spaces like this. It allows me to be free to dance, to laugh, to sing, to drum off tempo, to be vulnerable, to listen, to be gushy, to love, to run, to cry, to jump in a freezing creek naked, to play, and to just be me.

On the first evening of the retreat— I went up to my bunk and hyperventilated. I was beyond overwhelmed, there’s not a way to describe how unsafe I felt around so much feminine energy. I can’t begin to name the amount of women who have dug a dirty knife into the betrayal wound.

I was supposed to help lead this group. I was supposed to be stable and adjusted. So I pulled up my bootstraps and reminded myself how hot my bravery burns.

And My God. I’m so grateful that I did. The retreat experience— being with this group of likeminded women— was a soothing balm to all my wounds. It felt like a catalyst, a sacred memory, one of those defining life moments.

We laughed we danced we sang we cried we played we healed we grounded and we now cherish remembering it all.

Thank you Sisters for trusting me to capture you through my lens. For allowing me to share my wisdom and lead you in Tantric Meditation 🧘 And for truly seeing me. I love you all.

Sometimes you force yourself to find the beauty in life and other times it’s right in front of you shining brighter than ever.

In the moment and again looking back now, the Rooted and Radiant Retreat was the most beautiful experience I have been a part of.
