Pointe shoes are not corrective tools. Sickling has to be addressed through strength, alignment, and control — not by manipulating the shoe. Quick fixes lead to future problems. Don’t take a debt out on your future body by practicing improper technique. #PointeWork #BalletTechnique #BalletTraining #DanceEducation #BalletTeacher

Meet Abby Jayne DeAngelo — Founder & Artistic Director of Adage Ballet Academy. 🩰 “Ballet has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. From my early training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, to the Professional Division at Pacific Northwest Ballet, to dancing professionally with PNB, the studio has always been where I learned who I was — as an artist, a student, and eventually, a teacher. Over time, performing became teaching. Teaching became coaching, mentorship, and artistic leadership. In 2021, I founded Adage Ballet Academy with the belief that dancers deserve training that is rigorous, thoughtful, and deeply human — training that develops not only technique, but understanding, confidence, artistry, and longevity. Today, I’m proud to lead Adage into its next chapter at Lucymont, while continuing to perform and work as a freelance artist within the professional dance community. I still believe the best teaching comes from staying curious, staying connected to the art form, and continuing to grow alongside the dancers in front of you. If you’re looking for individualized coaching, private lessons are now booking at Adage Ballet Academy. Come train with me at Lucymont.” ✨ #AdageBalletAcademy #AbbyJayneDeAngelo #BalletTraining #PrivateBalletLessons #Lucymont

Week One at Lucymont is complete. 🩰✨ Our first week of Academy classes in our new home is officially behind us, and there is already so much learning happening in these studios. In this reel, Artistic Director Abby Jayne DeAngelo @abby.jayne breaks down piqué en avant into arabesque and piqué en arrière — looking closely at direction, placement, coordination, and the mechanics that allow a dancer to move clearly through space. This is the kind of detailed, thoughtful work that shapes strong technique over time. We hope even more dancers will come discover the beauty, discipline, and artistry of ballet with us this season. There are several ways to dance with Adage: • Full-time enrollment remains open • Open ballet classes twice each week • Private lessons are booking now • Drop-in classes are available for dancers training full-time elsewhere Come experience our brand-new studios at Lucymont and continue growing with us this fall. Improve your form with us this fall. #AdageBalletAcademy #ImproveYourForm #BalletTraining #NewCastlePA #Lucymont

The season has officially begun. 🩰✨ Classes started last night, and we could not be more excited for everything ahead at Lucymont. For the first six weeks of the year, our dancers are studying the mechanics of form — building a deeper understanding of placement, alignment, coordination, and how the body organizes itself within classical ballet technique. So this fall, our invitation is simple: Improve your form with us this fall. There are many ways to join us throughout the season: • Full-time enrollment remains open • Drop-in ballet classes are available for eligible levels • Private lessons and coaching are available throughout the year • Workshops and special training opportunities continue across the season • Open yoga classes are available through Jai Yoga @jai.yoga.flow Whether you’re looking for a complete training program, supplemental classes, individualized coaching, or simply a new way to move, we would love to welcome you to our new home. Come experience Adage Ballet Academy at Lucymont — our brand-new facilities in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Artistic Director Abby Jayne DeAngelo @abby.jayne demonstrates transfer turns on the diagonal during a special class focused entirely on the turning quality of movement in ballet. 🩰 There are so many different ways to turn, and we spent the day exploring rotation, control, coordination, and power — including a special twisting-focused yoga practice to help dancers find the torque and mobility behind the movement. It has been such a wonderful week welcoming dancers into our brand-new studios, and we can’t wait for one final evening of the Pre-Season Conditioning Workshop tonight. ✨ #AdageBalletAcademy #BalletTechnique #BalletTurns #DanceTraining #NewCastlePA

A special moment from our Open House at Lucymont. ✨ Guillaume introduced Sarabande, a pas de deux of his own choreography, before he and @abby.jayne performed it for our guests. In his introduction, he shared a little of the dance’s history — from its early roots in Mexico in the 1600s to its later development in Italy and France. With Mahoningtown’s strong Italian heritage, it felt like a particularly meaningful piece to share as our first live performance at Lucymont. We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and made this moment so memorable. #Lucymont #AdageBalletAcademy #PasDeDeux #BalletPerformance #NewCastlePA

Late-night rehearsal, first dance in Studio Adagio at Lucymont. ✨ Such a surreal moment to finally be dancing in this space after everything it has taken to get here. TODAY from 1–4 PM, we’ll welcome everyone for the Lucymont Open House, and Guillaume and I will perform Sarabande, a beautiful pas de deux choreographed by Guillaume. I can’t wait to share this special dance — and this new chapter — with everyone today. 🤍 #Lucymont #AdageBalletAcademy #PasDeDeux #Ballet #NewCastlePA
