🚨 IMPORTANT VENUE UPDATE 🚨

We’ve had a bit of a last-minute curveball! Due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ve been let down by our original venue for next Tuesday’s REC:MCR event 😬

But don’t worry - REC:MCR is still going ahead as planned, just at a new location! 🎥

📍 NEW VENUE: @abc.buildings, Quay Street, Manchester

A huge thank you to the brilliant team at ABC for stepping in at the 11th hour and, frankly, saving our butts! 😂🙌

We’re incredibly grateful for their help and excited to bring REC:MCR to such a fantastic creative space in the heart of Manchester.

Never been to ABC before? It’s a creative hub in Manchester’s St John’s district, surrounded by the city’s film, media and production community.

Here’s everything you need to know:
📍 ABC Studios, Quay Street, Manchester
🚶 Just a 4-minute walk down Lower Byrom Street from our original venue
🚪 Head to Entrance B, signposted Everyman Cinema
🕡 Doors open at 6:30pm (30 minutes later than originally advertised)

The good news? The line-up and schedule remain exactly the same! So you can still look forward to all the brilliant talks, conversations and networking you had planned.

Thanks for bearing with us while we got everything sorted. Please spread the word to anyone else coming along so nobody ends up at the wrong venue!

We can’t wait to see you all on Tuesday night ❤️

Love from Marc, Alain, Jess, Darren and Kodak x

Join us at the ABC Clubhouse for a short film development workshop where we will give you feedback and development strategies for your own project, as well as some general tips for making your project stand out.

You don't need an idea to attend, but if you are developing a short film, whether it's the kernel of an idea, a completed screenplay, or something in-between, we'll help you get it submission-ready.

Breakthrough founders Baldwin and Matthew Boone will be joined by Naomi Ayres, an experienced producer and educator who has recently completed BFI funded short film PHEASANT. Naomi began her career working in commercials and music videos, then progressed to producing a broad range of film projects: from animations in Switzerland; to a short film on a boat in Newcastle; and a documentary feature in South America.

RSVP link in bio.

Don't worry if you can't make it to Manchester this time, we'll be running online development sessions in November. Our fund welcomes applications across the whole of the UK.

Some stories deserve more than just a headline.

Last night we were back behind the cameras for another brilliant @rtsnorthwest event, and this one certainly gave everyone plenty to think about!

Hosted by RTS North West and Beautiful Productions @beautifulproductions in collaboration with ABC @abc.buildings the evening welcomed Stacey Dooley @sjdooley and the creative team behind Down the K Hole, a new documentary exploring the devastating impact of ketamine addiction.

It was one of those events where you could see just how captivated the audience was. From the discussions on stage to the questions from the room, there was a real sense of interest in the stories being shared.

Joining Stacey on the panel were Rachael Smith @rachael.j.smith @thegardenproductions, Becky Southworth @becksouthworth, Andy Rushton and Kerrie Lang @acornrecoveryprojects.

A fascinating look at what goes into bringing such a sensitive subject to screen, the people behind the production and why documentaries like this are so important.

Thanks to Cat Lewis, John at ABC @abc.buildings and Beth Hewitt @bethhewitt13, Vice Chair of RTS North West, for their contributions to the evening.

And of course, a big thank you to Beautiful Productions especially @mercedescres and RTS North West for inviting us back to capture it all. We always enjoy working with this team!

📸 We're sharing a few more moments from the evening, capturing everything from the panel discussion to the faces in the audience.

From an insightful panel discussion to an audience eager to learn more, it was an evening that demonstrated the impact television can have when difficult subjects are brought into the spotlight.
