Our final stop on our ferry spotlight tour is…. Lovejoy Wharf at North Station! ⚓

There are now TWO ferries you can take to connect to Lovejoy Wharf, the @seaportferry and the new @thembta Harbor Loop Ferry!

Step off the ferry and into the story of the American Revolution. From North Station, you’re just a short walk from some of Boston’s most iconic landmarks along the Freedom Trail:

🏛️ Old State House: The oldest surviving public building in Boston and the site where the Declaration of Independence was first read to Bostonians in 1776.

🏠 Paul Revere House: Explore the home of the patriot behind the famous midnight ride that helped spark the Revolution.

⛪ Old North Church: “One if by land, two if by sea.” Visit the church where lanterns signaled the British troop movement before Paul Revere’s ride.

Look for the famous brick path along the sidewalks of Boston to follow along the entire Freedom Trail! 👣

What better way to celebrate Water Transit Month than aboard a ferry? ⛴️🌊

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a beautiful afternoon exploring Boston Harbor and celebrating the many benefits of water transportation. A special thank you to @provincetownfastferry for allowing us the use of their awesome ferry, and to @mbta.boat.train.guy for help leading our tour. Another thank you to the members of the Massachusetts Legislature who came out to show their support for expanding and strengthening water transit across the Commonwealth.

Happy last week of Water Transit Month!

This week for our ferry spotlight, we’re sailing over to East Boston.

Did you know there are two ferry options to get to East Boston? Set sail on @seaportferry during its commuter operating hours to connect between the Seaport district and Eastie, or hop on @thembta East Boston ferry from Long Wharf during its operating season.

You can use either ferry to discover one of Boston’s hidden historic gems. Explore the Eagle Hill Historic District, with its many streets named after Revolutionary War generals. Just beyond Eagle Hill lies the site of the Battle of Chelsea Creek, the first naval battle of the Revolution.

From Revolutionary history to beautiful waterfront views, East Boston offers a unique perspective on the city’s past and it’s all just a short walk away from the ferry terminal! ⛴️

July is Water Transit Month in Boston… and today aquatic-transport-enthusiasts like me gathered in the north end to spotlight the many ways people can travel around Greater Boston by water…. 👀🌊

@thembta ferries, @citycruises , water taxis, and more!

I also learned about @wadahoppah , a new all-electric ferry service being developed for the Charles River, with plans to connect Watertown and downtown Boston!⚡️🌊
