Bench Press Tip! We see so many people in the gym doing the “Death Grip” while benching. This grip won’t do you any good, if anything it’s going to put you at a higher risk of having the bar slip out of your hands and potentially crush your chest. A lot of freak accidents happen and this is one that you can avoid! So dont do the "Death Grip" and make sure you wrap your thumbs around and secure the bar in your hands. Lifting by yourself can be very dangerous, especially when BENCHING. Please please never use clamps/clips when you are benching by yourself. @lola_lifts_on_44kg is an experienced lifter and shit happens when you’re training to become an absolute beast. She’s smart enough to not use clamps/clips while benching, if she did, this would have been a horrible way to die. We hope this reaches someone before anything bad happens. KB Weight Shift: - “Have your foot pointed 45degrees, corkscrew your feet into the ground and externally rotate your knees out while thrusting your hips forward. Maintain a neutral spine and hinge forward leading with your chest.” 2. Elevated Pigeons: - “Hinge forward with your chest while looking straight forward. Keep the back leg fully extended.” 3. Seated Good Mornings: - “Hinge forward leading with your chest. 🫧3 Snatch Warm Up Exercises 🫧 Here are 3 Exercises that I have my athletes do when Warming Up for Snatches: 1. Alternating knees over toes: (Ankles) - “shift your knees past your toes as far as you comfortably can and alternate on both sides. 2. Good Morning To Deep Squat: (Glutes/Hips) - “Start by executing the good morning, then lower knees down and forward to get into deep Squat. Go back up in reverse.” 3. Snatch Grip Overhead Press: (Shoulders) - “With our snatch grip and the barbell behind our head, press the bar towards the ceiling.” Do these for about 1-2 sets and 8-12 reps with just the bar. Everyone should be warming up with the bar. 🫧Ouchy Shoulders🫧 Are you dealing with Shoulder Pain? Or just want to Strengthen them? Try these 3 exercises: 1. Horizontal External Rotation: - Think about keeping your elbows 90° and close to your body and rotating externally using your shoulders as the primary mover. 2. Vertical External Rotation To Overhead Press: - Keeping our arms 90° externally rotate towards the ceiling, then pressing towards the ceiling, then reverse the movement. 3. Pull Apart: - Keep your arms long out in front of you and pull the band apart. We suggest using a micro band like the one you see in the video. Something small/light because this is a rehab/prehab exercise so we don’t want to use a thick band.
