MEET THE ARTIST;

Dennis is a Nigerian-born visual artist whose work bridges storytelling, social impact, and cultural identity. Deeply committed to giving a voice to the voiceless, he creates powerful pieces centered on childhood, resilience, and human dignity.
Now based in the UK, Dennis teaches art in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, leading creative workshops for children with autism and Down syndrome. His practice combines drawing, painting, and digital art, blending traditional methods with contemporary aesthetics.
Through his work, Dennis seeks to connect people, foster inclusion, and inspire empathy. For him, art is more than an image—it is a tool for healing, storytelling, and transformation, giving lasting voice to experiences that matter.

NEW Interview in today with UK Based Nigerian artist Dennis Abhuru: "My focus on giving a voice to the voiceless, particularly children with autism and down syndrome, stems from a deep sense of empathy and a desire to make a meaningful impact through my art. I believe everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued, regardless of their abilities or circumstances. This inspiration grew stronger when I started teaching at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools in the UK because coming from Nigeria, we didn’t really have special schools for kids with autism, severe learning disabilities and even down syndrome, and working closely with these incredible children, I saw firsthand how art could bridge communication gaps, boost confidence, and create a safe space for self-expression. "
