🎉Meet our Sound Artist Resident Abigail Agius🎉

Abigail @abiagius is a Maltese artist. Rooted in slow, sensitive and listening-centred methodologies, she works at the intersection between site and embodied sensing, gently unpicking the histories and narratives which line a space and its materiality.

Her process and output move fluidly between the sonic, visual and choreographic, using voice, drawing, text and field-working as fundamental tools. Curious about the narrative tangles held between bodies, times and spaces, her work is an exploration of non-linear storytelling, carefully teasing out and weaving together threads of the unheard, unnoticed and unseen, and bringing that fabric to the light of day.

Glimpses into the Visiting Artist Programme at @sismografolot – moments, reflections and handwritten traces of an experience that stayed with us all ✨

⊙ In October last year, @zowij+ @abiagius took the circle into the Malta archeology museum. The circular space became our archeological site, and we the artefacts inhabiting it. Drawn by the miniature neolithic, embracing couple, sculpture housed at the museum, we sifted through layers of sediment and time to unfold how the softness of embrace transforms into the tensions of push and vice-versa.

This project had us building sets in car parks at 6am, entering and inhabiting the museum for days and transforming it into a playground for speculative exploration.

Variations on Dusk was commissioned for @nottebiancavlt 2025.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for Sharing Spaces and contributed to the stories of St Julian’s.

It was great to see people sharing photographs, memories, and personal connections to the town. Every story, image, and conversation helps build this growing community archive and preserve these memories.

If you couldn’t make it today, there is another open day happening tomorrow!
