All time PR Zercher Squat 280lbx1 at .40 m/s Peak velocity, this is the most I’ve lifted on Zercher squats at any bodyweight. Previous best was 275 at ~195lb. This was 280lb at 188-190lb

Capped off the last month of training with some excellent progress on both my top set Zercher & my back off sets. Was able to climb weight on top sets and climb peak velocity on back offs. This is while concurrently dealing with some recurring neck and shoulder issues. I should be more proud of this , we are a lot stronger than we can imagine.

Despite the pain(s) I’m feeling good with training and programming.

Auto regulation + VBT + effort = SAT

No more Jump squats more horizontal weighted hops and vertical weighted jumps, depending on what I’m training I will utilize heavy lower rep higher intensity plyos
( jump squat) 3x10lb , 1x20 lb and 1x30lb
Along with more rhythmic , high rep , moderate load plyos ( horizontal weighted pogo hops)
Why you do the lift the way you do, is just as important as how you load and progress it.

I’ll take some time to think and plan what I want to do next with my Zercher It’s been doing well in the 1-3 rep range and I will be continuing use of @abmat Zercher pad for eternity & @reponestrength VBT for auto regulation and fine tuning some sport performance qualities forever( just making sure I’m hitting appropriate velocities to help illicit specific qualities).

I’m doing more frequent training sessions per week but augmenting total volume to be manageable across all days.
Effectively having 2 workouts into 3-4.
A big mistake is too much too fast , we don’t do that, we do enough when needed, and only when necessary would we climb more aggressively . My training methods and strategies are rooted in adaptations across many domains and qualities.

I’ve been dealing with some recurring neck and shoulder issues. To be 10lb off my best weight, not fully healthy and about 5-7lb lighter is actually very good.

A longtime competitor in the sport of strongman, Meredith has built an impressive résumé over the years. His accomplishments include earning United States Strongman Pro status in 2024, Strongman Corporation 105kg Pro status in 2019, and competing as a 2019 Arnold Amateur 105kg Finalist.
