🎉DESIGN WEEK IS OFFICIALLY OPEN. 🎉

The VoxBox is buzzing, the calendar is packed, and we’re kicking off a week of seeing what happens when we design outside the box.

Here’s what’s happening TODAY + TOMORROW:

📦 TODAY — SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4

1–4 PM | THE VOXBOX: INTERIOR DESIGN
Corner of 8th + Wellington

Bring your interior design dilemmas to the VoxBox for expert advice and hands-on exploration with Rachel Sturgeon of @folkloricinteriors and Melina Copp of @abodenstudio.

4–6 PM | TAP INTO DESIGN: TCDW OPENING HAPPY HOUR
@shortsbrewing Pull Barn, Elk Rapids

We’re officially kicking things off at Short’s! Explore the Pull Barn, get a peek at upcoming Logan’s Landing plans, enjoy brewery tours and creative activities, enter a giveaway—and grab your first Beer for a Buck. Come raise a glass to a week of designing outside the box.

📦 TOMORROW — MONDAY, OCTOBER 5

4–7 PM | THE VOXBOX: CULINARY DESIGN
Corner of 8th + Wellington

Head to the VoxBox for a peek inside the minds of Chefs Tim Kemp of @alliumhill and @abraberens of @everydaycookery. Explore the elements behind recipe development, menu design, and intentional hospitality. Will there be snacks? Of course there will.

7:30–8:30 PM | DESIGNED TO RESONATE
Dendrinos Chapel at Interlochen Center for the Arts

Back for its second year, Designed to Resonate explores the intersection of audio, music, and design—and how sound shapes the way we experience film, gaming, music, and more.

And this is just the beginning! All week long, the VoxBox keeps popping. Design Sessions are happening all over the region, and by next Saturday, we’ll be celebrating together at The Alluvion. Let’s goooo!

So much intention, heart and care has been lovingly woven into this cottage project. We are over the moon about it and cannot wait share this slice of heaven with the guests who will awaken to the sound of the wind on the water and the birds in the trees.

We have a photo shoot one week from today with the brilliant @makphotography, and we can wait to share each and every curated space of this property with you.

This cottage gut job renovation has truly transformed before our eyes. We are still in our final leg of the journey with lots of editing ahead, but we cannot wait to open the doors and get her coffee on and records playing.

Stay connected for the final reveal!

Let's talk design trends with local interior designer, Melina Copp (@abodenstudio) and Norris Design Productions. Here are our combined trend predictions for luxury home design in 2026:

"2026 interior design trends will embrace real life in all its beauty and imperfection: the messes, the color, and the personality. Rather than reinventing the wheel, this year is about re-imagining familiar trends in ways that feel more personal, comfortable, and lived-in." -Melina Copp, @abodenstudio

Architecturally, for 2026 we're predicting more seamless transitions between outdoor and indoor living spaces, a higher demand for in-home wellness retreats, such as gyms and saunas, more interest in "Biophilic Design" or design that melds with natural surroundings, and increasingly effortless smart home integration.

Thank you again to @abodenstudio for collaborating with us. Follow her page for more expert interior design insights and inspiration.

Stay tuned on our page for custom home design insights, inspiration, and more collaborations with local experts.

Closing out September with a full heart (and maybe a tiny tear in my eye) after hosting my 1st in-person business workshop in Chicago. What a special event it was!!

You’ve learned so much about running an interior design business, good marketing strategies, and using automation + AI solutions in your day-to-day. We exchanged experiences, shared vulnerabilities, and got inspired with some beautiful rugs and carpets from Oscar Isberian Rugs (my absolute favorite place for sourcing quality rugs). Thank you so much @oscarisberianrugs for all your support and help with bringing this event to life 🤍

But what stuck with me most from that night were the conversations we had. The honesty. That “oh wow, I’m not the only one struggling with this” moment that comes from being in a room of people who get it. (You all felt it) That’s the stuff that makes you walk away lighter, more inspired, and ready to reinvent yourself and your business. That impact of human-to-human connection and community is something AI will never be able to replace, and I think that’s very special.

I truly can’t wait to do this again, you guys!

PS. If you missed our live event, I’ll be selling a recording + a copy of our presentation (it will be available for purchase next week)- DM me if you’re interested and I’ll put you on my follow up list! 📩

Till next time xx
