We’re excited to finally introduce Cannon Concepts. This is the design company we’re building and the parent company of Cannon Coastal Tackle. First, we want to thank everyone who has trusted us with their ideas and let us be part of their projects and everyone who has inspired us and been helpful along the way, We’ve really enjoyed working with y’all, and it’s helped us figure out where we want to take this. We’ll be offering custom 3D design and CAD modeling, along with STEP, STL, and Fusion 360 files for prototyping and product development. If you have an idea you want to turn into a working design and move toward production, that’s where we come in. Fishing and outdoor products are a big part of what we do, but we’re open to ideas outside of that too. We also want people to know we take confidentiality seriously. If you bring us an idea, it stays between us. We’re happy to put a confidentiality agreement or NDA in place before we discuss anything. We won’t post your designs or show off your project without your permission. We’re familiar with the patenting process and work with a team of attorneys who can help with the legal side. If that’s something your project needs, we can get the right people involved. We’ve put a lot of time into learning, designing, and helping people work through their ideas. We’re ready to make this an official paid service so we can give each project the time and attention it takes to do it right. Pricing will depend on the project and what all you need. Cannon Coastal Tackle will continue as our fishing brand under Cannon Concepts. This just gives us room to take on more projects and help people with ideas beyond fishing tackle. We’re grateful for everyone who has supported us and helped us get here. If you’ve got something you’ve been wanting to make, send us a message. We’d love to hear what you have in mind.

It’s pretty cool how a shared love of machining can bring people together. If you’re new to the industry, let me introduce you to Adam Booth, a third generation machinist and the creator behind Abom79. Through his YouTube channel and Instagram, Adam has spent years documenting machining projects, sharing his knowledge, and preserving machining skills that are slowly disappearing from the industry. While I was in CNC machining school, we utilized Adam’s channel heavily during our manual machining courses. One day, I tagged him in a post to show him that he was up on the big screen in our classroom, and the rest is history! Since then, I’ve built a great friendship with Adam and his wonderful wife, Abby. Another full circle moment getting to finally meet in person at IMTS! For anyone who has never created machining content or tutorials, the amount of work that goes into these videos is easy to underestimate. There’s the planning, setting up cameras and angles around machines, making sure the work can actually be seen, and often repeating operations or explanations so viewers can follow along. Then there’s the challenge of explaining why you’re doing something, not just showing the steps. You have to think through the process, communicate it clearly, and make sure the information is accurate and useful to someone trying to learn. And that’s all before the hours of reviewing footage, cutting clips, recording voiceovers, editing, and putting everything together into something people can actually learn from. All while doing the machining itself! It takes a tremendous amount of time, knowledge, patience, and dedication to produce quality educational content. And when it comes to documenting manual machining skills, that work matters. These videos give people access to knowledge they might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn, and help preserve skills that risk being lost as experienced machinists retire. Thanks for all the hard work, Adam and Abby. We’re all thankful for the time you give to the industry. Adam putting our Kubota to work getting the rest of the home shop yard nice and tidy! The city of Pensacola has said it will take crews roughly 3 months to be finished picking up all the debris from Hurricane Isaias. Amazing how much work goes into the cleanup!! That grapple is now his new favorite thing! #abomadventures #abom79 #kabota #hurricaneisaias #grapple

The audio works as well as my arms did after cleaning all this debris! 🤣 We wanted to give another update on the damage caused by hurricane Isaias at our home shop. We are happy to report no major damage! Just a ton of debris and of course, no power. Thanks to all the crews that came to help with the recovery effort by trimming trees and getting everyone’s power restored. I know people are working their booties off and Adam and I both appreciate it! #abomadventures #abom79 #cantmovemyarms #hurricaneisaias #cleanup

Of course we were a bit nervous to head home because we didn’t know what to expect. Everyone on the gulf coast knows this could have been so much worse! Seeing everyone come together to help each other is amazing and is always my favorite silver lining to witness. Thanks to everyone to came to help feed people, clean debris and help in any way they could to our beautiful communities. #abomadventures #hurricanisaias #pensacola #thanksforthehelp #lovepensacola

Work-Holding CHALLENGE: How would YOU make this part? I’ve already done it, but I’m curious what other machinists approach would be. The part is made from the undisputed Mac daddy of all plastics, PEEK. The short walls are .060“ and the long section is .050“. The length is 3” - depth is 1” and the height is .560” - in the assembly there are 6 segments that reduce in size so they stack together but curious what everyone’s approach would be to make one segment 🤔 #instamachinist #cnc #practicalmachinist #shopownerlife

IMTS 2026 The Practical Machinist Machinists’ Hub was a blast! From live sessions and meet & greets to happy hours, it was an awesome week connecting with the machining community. It was great meeting so many of you in person, putting faces to names, and finally connecting names with the IG accounts we’ve been following and interacting with for years. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, hung out, joined a session, or just stopped in to say hello. And a huge thank you to the entire Practical Machinist team behind the scenes who put in the work to make the Machinists’ Hub possible. __________________________ sales@marvelmachining.com • • • #marvelmachining #machinist #instamachinist #machining #practicalmachinist

We were blown away by “the bean” in Chicago!! This incredible piece of art is 110 tons and is constructed from 168 stainless steel plates welded together. It’s polished so smoothly that it has no visible seams! I mean just wow! My favorite part was seeing how happy everyone was enjoying this amazing landmark, in such a cool city!
