We got to visit the good folks @ingersollcuttingtools in Rockford, Illinois after the IMTS show and had a great time!
They gave us a tour of the campus to see how they manufacture their carbide inserts and steel cutter body’s.
They also put on some awesome demonstrations to show us some new high feed aluminum inserts they’re developing, a new style of end mill for roughing aluminum and even got to see the Aluminator and DiPosFinish in action, the same cutters we use on our drill index. After watching that demo, it’s telling me I can definitely work on my own feeds and speeds.
We also got to see some high feed action on some steel and exotics as well. Really nice seeing what some of these cutters are capable of doing.

The crew gifted me a beautiful plaque they engraved thanking me for all of the educational (and entertaining) video content 😁

I can’t thank all of the folks at Ingersoll enough for their generous hospitality and inviting Abby and I inside the factory to give us a look around. We enjoyed meeting everyone and learning more about the tooling that Ingersoll develops and manufactures.

We had an incredible visit with our friend Nathan @industrialartifacts after our IMTS trip!
He’s got one of the most impressive vintage collections we’ve ever seen in person 😵‍💫
Anything from signage, lighting, furniture, unique decor and oddities…. He’s got a little of everything for the vintage lovers out there.
We had a great time visiting Nathan. He showed us around his buildings and got to know him and his business a little better. We even got to meet his Dad, who’s got what looks to be an equal passion, but for wood working machinery and tooling. Nathan’s business isn’t like your typical antique shop. Don’t expect bargain basement pricing on his collection and visits are by appointment only. But if you’re in the market for some hard to find vintage accessories check out his website. He’s got a lot of it posted there with pricing.
I was lucky enough to take one of his Athol Vises signs home with me! 😁 It’s the real deal and something Abby and I will cherish and display proudly in the shop!
Thanks Nathan for taking the time to hang out with us. We appreciate the visit and look forward to collaborating with you soon!

One of our favorite restaurants we found while in Chicago was Miller’s Pub. This place was great! Awesome pub vibes with a great looking street front.
I was honestly very impressed with their baby back ribs! Good seasoning, tender bite and I loved that bbq sauce.
We went back a second time and tried their fish & chips and even those were fantastic. Abby had the Ham & Cheese sand which and she said it was one of the best she’s tried.
Good beer selections and fun atmosphere to enjoy. We really enjoyed this one!

IMTS 2026. Where do I even begin? From meeting new friends and old acquaintances, this IMTS had just about everything I was looking forward to. I got to spend the whole week looking at anything and everything machining related and even got to play around as Iron Man. The Wednesday machinist meetup at the Kern booth was a success as usual. Wonderful seeing Dylan @proteummach @withintolerancepodcast and all the other thought leaders who had attended the @kernprecision meetup. Seeing how far everybody has come and getting to shake hands and put faces to usernames was the best part of the event. I am so excited to see everybody again again at IMTS 2028.

Special shoutout to Jamie at @jspec_engineering for bringing Kurt @confoundedmachine around the whole show. Truly a highlight to see the shenanigans throughout the week. The aftershow events were truly the icing on the cake, being able to hang out with a bunch of new friends.

We went to the Eleven City Diner in Chicago and loved it! I went with the smoked brisket sandwich and Abby had the pancakes. Both delicious! Such a fun place to visit and enjoy a good meal 👏🏼

My first time trying Turkish Coffee ☕️ and I absolutely loved it! We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at @cafeintermezzonashville

We split the Croque Madame and Frutti di Bosco for breakfast. Abby @abomadventures had the Cafee Intermesso ☕️and i enjoyed the Turkish coffee 😌

Great place to visit if you’re in Nashville!
