"Do you immediately load everyone?" — I get this question a lot. The short answer? No. And here's a case example. 🦷

This patient presented edentulous in the maxilla for several years. Her chief complaint was straightforward: "I just want teeth I don't have to take in and out."

At the time of implant placement, we were unable to achieve adequate primary stability in the maxilla — not surprising given the degree of residual ridge resorption that occurs with prolonged edentulism. Rather than compromise osseointegration, we made the decision to proceed with a two-stage protocol, allowing for complete osseointegration before uncovery and delivery of the final fixed prosthetic.

The wait was worth it.

At her uncovery appointment, when she finally received her fixed implant-supported prosthesis, she stood at the mirror dancing and telling her reflection "You so pretty now. You got teeth, girl!" And then she turned to me and said — "You even gave me some of my lip back!" 🥹

That last comment says it all. The lip support and facial esthetics we take for granted make so much difference when restored.

This is exactly why we do what we do. 🙏

ABOUT FACE SMILES FOR VETERANS:

I was on WFAA this weekend and chatted about my ABOUT FACE SMILES for Veterans charity case! 🦷

As you know, I’m a US Air Force Veteran, and I’m giving back to our military veteran community by offering one derserbing person an All on X full arch reconstructive case. This is meant for a veteran that is wearing traditional dentures or are in need of all of their teeth extracted due to declined dental help. These dental implant surgeries are worth about $60,000+!

An All on X procedure is a full arch reconstructive procedure with dental implants that will serious change a persons life by allowing them to chew and function better!

If you’re interested in applying, applications started today through Nov 18, 2023.

For more details on the requirements, please follow us @drporchia and @aboutfacesurgery, and apply here:

I had the chance to go live on @wfaadaybreak with @cleogreene_tv this morning, who is such a gem! I discussed Halloween candy and the best candies to eat as well as discussed dental implants. @aboutfacesurgery is doing a BIG initiative for a deserving Veteran (All on 4 #dentalimplants) and I’m super excited about this!

We are thrilled to share that @drporchia, the owner @aboutfacesurgery in Little Elm, Texas was featured on WFAA this morning. Her insightful discussion on the impact of dental 🦷 implants left a lasting impression on the viewers. Dr Porchia expertise and experience in the oral and facial surgery make her one of the most sought-after surgeons in the area. We are proud to have her as a repeat customer. On a fashion note, she looked absolutely stunning in her vibrant Tiffany color MichelleO dress, which she rocked with grace purchased 5 years ago.

I had a very educational weekend in California at the @glidewelldental Dentistry on the Rise symposium. I was elated to see my friends/Sorors @2thdoctrudy lecturing on Identifying Human Trafficking and @drjarrett_dds on Enhancing Your Practice with a Digital Workflow. They did an excellent job!

I also got to hang with my friends @j_keidredds and @cameliadds and we had a great night! Although my time in CA was short this time (thanks to @beyonce), I packed a lot in with my @guidingleaders sisters! 💗💗💗

This lovely patient has wonderful results from our All on 4 procedure (full mouth reconstruction with dental implants). I placed 4 implants on the top and 6 on the bottom. The entire procedure will generally be an all day procedure when doing both arches. The last photo is one week postop, and they are doing great! Still a little swollen here, but, confidence is through the roof! Beautiful inside and out! ❤️🦷

These are TEMPORARY teeth (cannot be removed) that will allow the dental implants to heal for approximately 6 months underneath until they are ready for the FINAL fixed hybrid and they’ll be biting into an apple in no time! 🍎🦷

Call us at 214-705-1660 to schedule your consultation.

I had the opportunity to host almost 50 BLACK FEMALE DENTISTS from various specialties in the Dallas/Ft Worth area yesterday. This is my 4th time hosting this event, and, i swear it gets better every year! As you can tell, citrus was the color of choice! 🍋

We had the opportunity to network amongst each other as well as gain valuable CE! If you look up the definition of #blackexcellence then I'm sure you'd see some of these beautiful and intelligent women! 👩🏾‍⚕️

Let me know if you're looking for a black dentist in DFW, and I can definitely refer you to someone! 💛🦷💚🦷🍋

First in the country to receive 3D printed teeth and surgery same day for BoneEasy!

Digital Implant Dentistry is not the future - it is the NOW. There’s absolutely NO need for messy goopy impressions for full arch cases or anymore analog conversions.
Take your dental implant practice to a different level by learning how to master hybrid restorations with Zygomatic, Pterygoid, transnasal and transpalatal and now Maxillary BoneEasy implants by the leading experts! Now you can make life better for others in just a few hours by attending one of our mentorships!
We now utilize a full digital workflow with photogrammetry, intraoral scanners and same day printing our prototype teeth with our 3D printers everyday which are stained and glazed by our own dental assistants not a dedicated laboratory technician.
I won’t miss things not fitting and needing to make verification jigs and custom trays. Do the math, and see how much money you save going digital. If you only do 50 full arch cases a year, think about the money you save with digital dentistry.
Each temporary cylinder costs about $130 and each jig and tray costs $250. By my math you save about $4000 in parts and lab fees per case here. Plus the patients get a better product. That’s a savings of $250000 per year! Gotta love digital dentistry, come to one of our courses and change your career !!!

When you're told you can't have Dental Implants, WE SAY YES!

There is always an option, even without any bone, using Zygomatic and Pterygoid and now patient specific implants.

At the Desert Ridge Oral Surgery Institute we change patients' lives every day. These patients were each previously told that they weren’t candidates for dental implants due to severe bone loss. Thanks to the All-On X and the Quad-Zygoma with Pterygoids, we can now perform full arch implant rehabilitation immediately and deliver teeth for every patient on the day of surgery.
