In Mae Sot, Thailand, I directed a community mural painting project at the mental health center, Jue Jue’s Safe Space. I knew Jue Jue through my mom who is a cofounder of the organization. We worked with community members and local artists, all who are refugee-migrants from Myanmar. Hearing about their survival in a foreign land and running from home was already familiar to me. Although I’m unable to visit Myanmar, I was grateful to reconnect with Thailand where I grew up and to integrate with the migrant community there. 𓃒 𓅣 This mural is of a Burmese imaginarium—in the paddy fields, among snakes and egrets, where we can feel safe—at least enough to let down our guards, to rest our eyes, on the back of a strong buffalo. #artist #recordinghistory

The past has gone, and the future has yet to begin. Everything hangs for a breath, yet time does not pause — it moves on, carrying hesitation with it.
