Thanks everyone who watched Intertwining Infinities, the link is in the bio if you missed it. Video starts at 46:00 min.

I've done live events and loved connecting with people. But sometimes there were few people at the show. Other times I've posted videos of performances or made work specifically for YouTube and there tends to be more views but no human connection. This project was a negotiation between the two being specifically created to be on YouTube but still being a live show despite being in 3 different states. With all the amazing engagement from everyone I did feel more connected to the audience. Thank you everyone who reached out personally to me after the show.

Again I can not express how grateful I am to have worked with such amazing collaborators Jixue Yang and Edward Cunneen. Also thank you to Hugo and Absonus labs for having this residency program that allowed me to develop new work on such a beautiful platform.

1 day away…

Dec 11th 8pm EST. Link in bio

Description of Intertwining Infinities of Humans, Earth, and Sky as written by Republica Portugesa Cultura & dgArtes @dgartes

The performance will be a fusion of field recordings of insects and birds from Uzbekistan, sounds from an Orthodox Semantron ritual, and real-time data from a brainwave monitor, all manipulated with granular synthesis and time warping. In addition, special guest pianist Jixue Yang and percussionist Edward Cunneen will bring their energy and talent to the experience. Dan Antoniu will conduct the performance virtually, using an interactive score that the performers will navigate through different text boxes. He will provide visual cues that will guide the musicians, controlling volume, pitch, and density of the sound. This innovative approach, inspired by the ideas of Walter Thompson and the techniques of Iancu Dumitrescu and Ana Maria Avram, will allow for a dynamic interaction between the performers and the electronics, even while being in three different states. Through this telematic performance, Dan hopes to connect the musicians and the audience to nature and to each other, using technology in a meaningful way. The varied rhythms of insects, birds, people and the brain will merge into a hypnotic tide, punctuated by ripples and explosions of sound.
