✨biz friends retreat✨ Last week, I went to AZ to meet up with a handful of really cool, successful, growth minded people. Each one of us presented on a different topic, (mine was overwhelm & burnout - you already know cortisol has been the #1 focus here lately) We ate some good food, Had conversations about biz & life Learned a lot about each other And made memories we’ll get to keep forever. It made me think back on how less than a year ago, I attended my very first conference for fitness coaches - in AZ as well - by myself. I’d never met a single person in a room of 100+ successful people. And now, less than a year later, Some of them have become part of my inner circle. Who will be there for me, challenge me, and help me grow to new levels. I’m so grateful for these humans 🩷

Lil AZ Photo Dump & How I set myself up for a successful week after 6 days of travel ✈️ 1️⃣ Food first If I don’t have food in the house, things go south real fast - I sent hubby to the store with a list so I don’t have to figure out what to eat all week! If I didn’t have that option, I’d put together a grocery order to pick up on my way home from the airport with plenty of produce and protein on the list! 2️⃣ Unpack as SOON as I get home A cluttered environment for me equals a cluttered mind - I can’t stay focused or productive, so I ALWAYS unpack my suitcase as soon as I get home Dirty clothes to the washer (I even did a load of laundry), clean clothes to the drawers, PUT THE SUITCASE AWAY 3️⃣ Review my calendar for the week ahead I’m always more productive (and less overwhelmed) when I look at what I’ve got on my calendar BEFORE the week starts. I’ll list out in order of importance which tasks need to be completed and create lists for each day - only 2-3 BIG tasks/day and time block as needed to stay on task. Curiousssss - how do you settle back in after traveling? (Or is that a challenge for you??) 🤔

👢 I didn’t know what it’d be like It all began in March of 2023 - just three months after I left policing and moved across country, Officially going all in on my life, my self, my biz. On my birthday, I had an onboarding call with my new business mentorship, Meeting my success coach for the very first time who I committed paying more than my mortgage to every month. No more than 60 days in, I said - I want to be a success coach. Fast forward 6 months - September 2023, I walked into my first Legacy retreat in Nashville TN. I was a student, a friend, a learner of those much wiser and more experienced than I, Giddy and excited, ready to mingle with my new friends, and take my biz to its next level. Little did I know, January would come and go - Two more retreats and memories, That I would walk into that very room again in August ‘24… Not as a student, No, this time as the success coach I said I would be. I wondered how it would be to enter the room with a new role. And, I quickly found out… I had double the friends, I was sitting at tables I never thought I could, Making more money helping people help more people. I saw familiar faces, reconnected with old ones, and even met some new ones… It was only a few days before we said “see you again soon”, And for some, it would be just 6 weeks later. The friends, memories, lasting relationships… They’re all were worth every dollar, blood sweat and tear, high and low. Walking into that room was nothing new… It was home ❤️ • • • #family #friends #team #explore #life #coach #health #business

I've had a hard time making friends my whole life⁣ ⁣ I always found myself changing so I could fit in & hoping that people would like me⁣ ⁣ I always looked at my deep-emotions as a negative trait about me⁣ ⁣ I love too deeply⁣ ⁣ I feel too deeply⁣ ⁣ My passion is too much⁣ ⁣ I become vulnerable too easily⁣ ⁣ But I realize that meeting the RIGHT people will change your perspective..⁣ ⁣ See, I hated these things about myself because others would always find them negative⁣ ⁣ I was called "annoying" most of my childhood⁣ ⁣ Being an adult and welcoming new friends, and saying goodbye to old has made me realize..⁣ ⁣ Someone can love you regardless of your traits⁣ ⁣ Hell, I even had a friend this weekend say to me..⁣ ⁣ "We're completely different - I don't feel and you feel too much, but I like you regardless"⁣ ⁣ And thats all I've ever wanted⁣ ⁣ A group of friends that loved me 𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨⁣ ⁣ I'm blessed to say that I found my people - in Virginia and in the fitness space⁣ ⁣ I'll always remember these conferences and the people they introduced me to⁣ ⁣ Best friends for life.. Nashville, you are always good to me 💃🏻🤠

Nashville/Weekend Recap Takin baby places they won’t even know they’ve been, but havin a great time! Being able to sit in a room full of dozens of coaches making a BIG impact on our society, changing lives, finding freedom - there’s emotions that you can only get from being “in the room” This is why community and surrounding yourself with the right people is so important - you can learn from them, be inspired by them, and realize that you CAN, in fact, do this (this applies outside of business too - *cough* your own health journey) In no particular order: 🦋 the classic Nash mural 🤠 a cute Airbnb with great “getting ready” mirrors 🦋 great friends 🤠 great food 🦋 laughing a little too hard (as per usual) 🤠 home in time for church 🦋 plus an impromptu post grocery store ice cream date I’m incredibly grateful for the mentors and coaches in my life that make me feel seen, heard, understood, and supported - no matter the situation Another Nashville trip in the books 📚🤠 P.S. Yes, baby even got to make an appearance at Morgan Wallen’s bar….a couple times 🤪

Are your weekends setting you back? During the week you are busy working, going to the gym, taking care of your family, etc., so you typically don’t have time to make excuses or poor decisions. But then the weekend rolls around! You have had a long week, and all of a sudden, all your ambitions go out the window! You find yourself: 📺 Being less active & watching more TV 🍟 Making poor food choices & indulging in temptations But WHY!? Why would you let your during-the-week hard-work fall by the wayside? Weekends account for 30% of your month, and you lose the most traction with your weight loss journey here! You need to be prepared! You need a plan! A lack of preparation and thinking that you can outperform your poor diet choices typically leads to giving-in to every temptation that comes your way thus setting you back on accomplishing your goals. What if you were able to give in to some of these temptations without having to sacrifice your progress?! This is the basic weekend planning strategy my clients use to help them balance their fun with their goals! ① Figure out where you plan to eat, look at their menu, and pre-track your macros for that meal (including your drinks). ② After tracking, work backward to spread the remaining calories between the other meals you plan on having that day. For most, it is easy to get carbs and fats in our diets, so focus on front-loading with high protein. ③ Lastly, MOVE! Make sure you get some physical activity that day! If possible, I highly recommend you go for a walk after any big meal you are not used to eating. It will help with digestion. These simple steps will allow you to enjoy eating out and being with your friends without undoing all of your hard work during the week. Achieving your weight loss goals doesn’t mean you can’t have fun or enjoy the foods you want. You just need a proven strategy!
