Have you ever experienced an Indian High Tea? I recently enjoyed this at The Mint Room in Bath, and it was such a lovely change from a traditional afternoon tea.

The savoury selection included Mehekti Anjeer Scone, a buttery fig and Indian-spiced scone; Shahi Masaldar Scone with special cheese and Indian masala; Butter Kheema Crunchwich with spiced buttery minced paneer/chicken; Red Onion Pakora; Kolkata Kathi Luxe with a rich, spiced spinach and chicken filling; and Lentil Vada with channa dal, curry leaves, chillies and a touch of Madras flair.

And then came the sweet bites: Sona Bhoondhi Fudge, Gulabi Gajar Macarons filled with carrot halwa, and Jamun Noorani — fried milk dumplings with saffron, rose syrup and rabdi cream. 😍

It was all accompanied by a jug of Masala Chai, brewed with milk, ginger and cardamom — the perfect finishing touch.☕

I also loved the calming atmosphere at The Mint Room, with its warm and relaxed setting, while the attentive and friendly staff made the whole experience feel even more special.

Definitely not your usual afternoon tea, and that's exactly what made it so enjoyable. 💛

@themintroom has always been one of my favourite restaurants in Bath, the favours and quality of food is always exceptional. I also LOVE an afternoon tea, so getting to try their Indian High Tea was an absolute treat!

Think freshly baked scones with dried figs and Indian spices, buttery minced chicken in a ‘crunchwich’ red onion Pakoras and fresh milk dumplings in a saffron and rose syrup all served with a pot of Masala Chai or a Bollywood cocktail! An unusual and delicious twist on a traditional concept.

We were recently invited to experience the “Frames of Flavour” menu @themintroom and it is an impressive showcase of modern Indian cooking.

While every course was beautifully presented, two moments really stood out.
The Shakarkhand & Beet Papdi Chaat was an incredible start, a refined take on street food using roasted sweet potato that was perfectly balanced. The main course was equally excellent; a full spread of lamb shashlik accompanied by slow-simmered dhal, Bombay potatoes, and chicken curry. It felt like a proper feast, executed with fine-dining precision.

The evening was made even better by the hospitality of the team. A sincere thank you to Soham for his attentive and professional service, and to Luthfur and Am for the wonderful invite.

If you appreciate refined flavours and impeccable service, this is a standout choice in Bath. ✨

ad. A moment for the most INSANE Indian high tea at @themintroom because owwwwwh my gosh 😍😍😍

A perfectly balanced selection of both sweet and savoury items, all perfectly balanced with gorgeous Indian spices. We knew the savoury bits would be insane but the sweet treats blew us out the water!! Also all washed down with the best cup of Indian chai tea ☕️

I will also say the service here is genuinely exceptional - they literally can’t do enough for you. I will be going back to try the rest of the menu ASAP 😆❤️
