YOUR SPORTS BRA SERIES 💗 | Meet @abuchalski

@abuchalski runs the 5K and 10K for the @brooksbeaststc . Growing up she did it all: basketball through high school, gymnastics, and cheer.

As her body changed, finding the right sports bra became a game changer. Her mom was the one she could turn to for more support, and after a few tries they found one that was comfortable and fit well. Suddenly she felt confident, secure, and ready for anything.

Her takeaway? Access is everything. Having options to try, and making it a normal conversation, helps girls even know what they might need. 🙌

Not every girl has someone to ask. That’s where Bras for Girls comes in.

Went to Europe to finish out my track season with an (in-race) 1K PB! I wanted to race a teeny bit quicker, but overall I couldn’t be prouder of my outdoor track season. I raced A LOT, had some lows, but also so many highs and such a breakthrough season. 🦋

A few months ago, I sat down with my coaches and made a list of goals I wanted to accomplish this year:

1. Sub-2 800
2. Sub-4:05 1500
3. USA finalist
4. Compete in Europe and experience different racing environments & competitions
5. Have gratitude on start line and confidence
6. Finish my season at 5th Ave

Looking back, I’m really proud of how many of those goals came to life. Not everything happened exactly how I pictured it, but I got to race a lot, travel, learn, compete alongside some incredible athletes, and experience a season that pushed me in ways I didn’t expect.

I’m so grateful for this season and for the athlete I’ve become through it.

The season isn’t over yet. One more race this Sunday on the roads for the 5th Ave Mile. ❤️

Here are some photos from this season that tell more of the story 🫶

And supported by the best people <3

Incredibly grateful to have spent a few hours documenting the @ourspaceinsport conference last weekend. It was an honor to capture the energy in a room dedicated entirely to educating and empowering high school girls and non-binary athletes across the Pacific Northwest.

I was only able to stay for a short while, but the organizers kindly allowed me to shoot while sitting in on a powerful keynote from Ivy Watts and a fantastic athlete panel. Seeing the immense level of support, resources, and mentorship provided here was deeply moving. This is exactly the kind of inclusive culture and community building I want to continue supporting through my athletic documentation work.

A massive thank you to the Our Space in Sport team for letting me bring my camera into the room to experience such a vital initiative.

If you aren't familiar with their mission, I highly recommend reading up on the incredible work they are doing for our local athletic communities: ourspaceinsport.org/about

Our Space in Sport 2026 was one for the books!! ✨

The King County Play Equity Coalition, @opalfoodandbody , and @uw_ial , brought together 110+ high school girls, nonbinary athletes, and coaches for a full day of connection and growth. Students heard from an inspiring keynote speaker, sat in on a panel with professional athletes, and dug into workshops on nutrition and mental health, the stuff that keeps you strong on and off the field.

Big thanks to @brooksrunning for showing up big for our coaches with new shoes.

At KCPEC, our mission is to expand access to play and physical activity for every young person in King County. Days like this only happen because of our incredible coalition of members who show up, share resources, and believe in this work alongside us. We’re endlessly grateful for this community.
