Did you know that the accountability workshops offer a monthly speaker series—as well as coaching and community to help keep you on track with your own writing? Probably not because we’ve never advertised it! The series has featured such authors such as Jonathan Escoffery, Curtis Sittenfeld, Weike Wang, Daniel Wallace, Clare Beams, Marie-Helene Bertino, Rufi Thorpe, Angie Kim, Steve Almond, Alex Marzano-Lesnevich, John Vercher, Jami Attenburg, and many many more. Plus agent and editor guests too! These are really special Q&As where ask our favorite authors about their process, publishing, and even for advice. It’s much more personal than your average book talk. Upcoming speakers: Vanessa Lillie in January— the USA Today bestselling author of Blood Sisters and its sequel The Bone Thief. Her other bestselling books are Little Voices, For the Best, and the Young Rich Widows series. Susannah Cahalan in Feb — the bestselling author, journalist, and public speaker. Her books: Brain on Fire, The Great Pretender, and The Acid Queen. Kevin Wilson in March — the author of two story collections and five novels, including his latest Run for the Hills (Ecco, 2025), which is the Accountability Workshop bookclub pick. Oh did we mention we also have a bookclub? Sure do. It’s all on zoom so you can join us from anywhere. Find us: accountabilityworkshops.com. The writing community of your dreams for $165/month. Writing coaching, small group meetings every other week, a writing contract and daily check-ins to help keep you on track with your work. Plus a slack community group, the speaker series, the book club! Just want to join the speaker series? Sure! For $200/a year, you’ll get access to all 12 live speakers (and recordings). Send us a message and we’ll make it happen.

Last summer, our writing group went on a book tour together (Three out of four of us had books out at the same time! And Annie was the publicist/tour manager/bus driver). While we were sharing a single hotel room and giggling late into the night, we felt like teenagers again. What a thing! To share time together away from our families and responsibilities! To talk about writing and also about all the other life around writing. To be together in person, not just on the regular zoom room. On that book tour, we came up with Writing Camp: a place where friendships could be forged, writing could get done, business secrets could be shared, s’mores could be had. Held at the resort Annie’s family has been going to for 35 years: Purity Spring Resort in Madison NH. It was a huge success. Please join us for our second year! Get writing done, and make the kind of friends we used to make at summer camp. There will be generative writing time, craft talks, one-on-one agent meetings, shared meals, dance parties, hot cider, fall foliage, ghost stories, campfires. You will leave with a full heart. Deadline Sept 10th. Apply at accountabilityworkshops.com/camp. All genres welcome.

Good boys everywhere agree: THE ROAD TO TENDER HEARTS is a must-read! @annie_hartnett weaves a heartbreaking and heartwarming road trip novel featuring a down-and-out lottery winner, a cat who can predict death, and lonely orphans. I loved this book and I’m so proud to know Annie IRL!! Plus, John Irving blurbed this book! John Irving!! TW: some intense setups as this is a dark comedy. #amreading #summerreading #writerswhoread #amwritingfiction
