four - one direction (2014) i'm posting this because today marks 11 YEARS since their concert here in manila ! 🥳 four clears the rest of their discography—debate your mother! do their other albums have stockholm syndrome, no control, and where do broken hearts go? no? exactly. 🙂↕️ the cool music lover uncle vibes and soft/rock sounds from the 70s and 80s best suit them and their vocals; they were giving grown men! thank God they had a lot more creative control on this album, otherwise it probably wouldn’t have stood out from the others and that we wouldn’t have gotten THE niall horan guitar riffs and gaggy larry stylinson lyrics like ‘and i wrote you a song with the words you spoke’ and ‘waking up beside you, i’m a loaded gun’. i miss and lowkey don’t miss this era: four holds a lot of my favorite memories (number one obviously being the concert), and at the same time, some of the worst days that we directioners do not speak of. ugh i still think about what could’ve been if this era wasn’t cut short… anywayyyy i’m glad that this was gifted to me on my 24th birthday almost three years ago! i’ve dreamt of owning a COLORED pressing of this album with the deluxe tracks when i still had the black one. HOWEVER, i really wish it was denim blue, brown, beige, or neutrals instead of red 🙄 @/urbanoutfitters - u deserve jail time for the mismatch of the colors for four and made in the am, hmph! u better not f up the color for midnight memories (also wtf is taking y’all so long??)…. top 5 tracks 🥇STOCKHOLM SYNDROME (their best song overall) 🥈no control 🥉clouds 4️⃣ where do broken hearts go 5️⃣ change your ticket urban outfitters exclusive translucent red vinyl from @acetatemusic #vinyl #niallhoran #harrystyles #zaynmalik #louistomlinson

monsters - the midnight (2020) 5 years ago today, tyler and tim released my favorite the midnight album! only been born in 1998, i have absolutely no idea how the 90s felt like. therefore, i grew up always fascinated with the pop culture landscape during that period of time. to this day, i would always wonder about how far different the 90s is from today, aside from the shift to digital and modern. there has always been a void in me that needed to be filled with all things 90s by all means, like doomscrolling through photos and moodboards on pinterest, watching coming-of-age movies, and of course, listening to the music from that decade…so it’s pleases me when artists today attempt to recreate that 90s magic through their music, my prime example being the midnight. i don’t think i’ve said this before in my the midnight discography post in 2023, but the way they emulate the nostalgic retrowave production while adding a modern flair to it fills said void in the best way possible, especially with ‘monsters’! i have a stronger connection with this album more than the others because it matches my personality so much, both lyrically and sonically. i resonate a lot with the songs on this album because i, too, have gone through those moments of existential crisis scattered through adolescence and have questioned everything just so i can make sense of the world, yet going #YOLO when these ‘monsters’ come my way. i really can’t say that owning ‘monsters’ on vinyl—not to mention, the beautiful first pressing—is the cherry on top of my 90s fantasy, because i still have yet to hear the songs live in concert…that’s when i can say that i’ve come full circle! top 5 tracks 🥇BROOKLYN (my overall fave the midnight song) 🥈dance with somebody 🥉america online 4️⃣ fire in the sky 5️⃣ dream away purple swirl vinyl (1st pressing) from @acetatemusic #vinyl #vinylcollection #vinylcheck #vinylcollectionpost #vinylph #vinylphilippines #recordoftheday #vinylcommunity #musiconvinyl #vinylcollection #vinyladdict #nowspinning #instavinyl #vinylhead #vinyloftheday #vinylcommunity #music #themidnight #retro #themidnightvinyl #nostalgia #synthwave #retrowave #vaporwave
