NIGHT SHIFT LIVE @artscentralstudios , Kiln Farm MK11 3HB | Sat 7th November, 6pm–Late. Entry: £5 on the door | £4 beers Schedule as follows: ZINES Every single zine published by @nightshift.books this year will be available to buy — including complete collection packs covering every run. ART GALLERY An exhibition featuring original artwork from Danny Hawkins, Remy Martini, and Martin Akehurst (@lonefoxandduck ). Paintings in acrylic and wax along with paper collages. SCREENINGS & VISUALS We’re starting off the evening showing all the Night Shift music videos made by various artists this year, all stitched into one neat compilation. Plus a special screening of ‘Never Event’ by Luke Webb. Throughout the entire night, we’ll also have an ongoing mashup of visuals projected ranging from classic anime, video games, old TV ads and arthouse cinema. LIVE READINGS Live readings from Lewis Webb and @ashbysimon , giving you short story excerpts from recent releases. LIVE BANDS Staggers — A two piece, uneasy listening jams escalating into a psychedelic storm. Action Beat (@action_beat)— Playing a brand new, brutal, experimental set. A rhythmic assault for fans of Sonic Youth, Neptune, Swans or the Dischord Records catalog. DJs Remy Martini has lined up a Vaporwave mix for the first hour, playing a few known classics, progressing from slushwave into more upbeat future funk. The Duke of Zuke (@zukebattista ) takes the second slot with a specially curated mix, compiling together favourites old and new. Expect clicks, bleeps, rhythms, lush melodies and unreliable modulations as you drift across the hazy island of modern living. To cap off the night is a headline DJ set by @recordsandevidencecentre . A sonic excavation of the obscure and the unexpected. Yugoslavian Dark Wave, Somali Funk, Cambodian Psych, Italian Disco and other forgotten transmissions from the outer limits. No hits. No rules. Just deep cuts. VENUE: Art Central, Kiln Farm, MK11 3HB DATE: Saturday, 7th November TIME: 6pm till late ENTRY: £5 on the door (A rough estimate of timings for the night will be in the comments)
