• “𝔻𝔼𝕀” 𝕊𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕊𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘

It was a delightful afternoon with the brilliant writer-director Jill V. Dae at the special screening of her short film “DEI” at the HollyShorts Film Festival at TCL Chinese Theatres.

The short is about a bigoted man who finds himself in an unlikely body on Día de los Muertos. Think an au courant “Watermelon Man” meets an edgier “Freaky Friday.”

It was wonderful meeting the talented cast – Maeve Garay, Erik Rolando Rozet, Ada Luz Pla-Williams, Daved Olivencia and Zara Castaneda – and makeup maven Diahann McCrary. And it’s always a joy to hang out with Anirudh Pisharody (“9-1-1”) who makes a cameo appearance in the short.

Fun fact:
Jill V. Dae has previously directed the award-winning short films “Rebirth” and “Honeywell.”

Excited to be heading to Palm Springs with IMaGO! ShortFest was the first film festival that really impacted my career, giving my previous short a much larger platform than I had ever known. Honored to be screening with them again!
