Starting today our Monday night Kinstretch classes will only be offered in-person.

Why? We are moving towards programming that requires loaded techniques that follow principles from the FRS Internal Strength. More in-depth instruction, weights, heavy therabands and partners are needed to optimize your results and learning. We hope to see you in studio tonight and every Monday moving forward!

So very thankful for all the memories this trip has brought me. The people met and the boulders climbed will never be forgotten. Living in a built out van with @noah.folliott surrounded with world class bouldering was an absolute dream. Now it’s time to come back to training and get ready for the rest of the season.

Really happy with how bolder nationals turned out, felt like I climbed really well and finished at 25th. Could have got 16th if I got that last climb but that’s a goal for next year.

Thanks for my coaches @kyewotton @reganmkennedy @joshmuller

Fighting for their spot 🔥
.
ACA Senior Boulder Provincials - Qualifications ⚔️

Had a blast working with such a talented and experienced setting team. It was a privilege to assistant head set my first open provincials alongside an epic team with @hayden_jones_10 @dabaijonny @lucasuchida and @lily_trottier 🙏🏻 I learned so much and can’t wait to hopefully work together again soon 🫶

Thanks to the athletes for fighting hard, @acaclimbs and @calgaryclimbing for organizing these events and all the volunteers 🫰🏻

CONGRATULATIONS ADAM on your recent send of Existence Mundane (14b)! 🔥💪💥✅ 💜 I am so proud of all the hard work and great attitude you have put into this huge send.
It’s been so awesome to witness your passion and joy for climbing and the whole process. (Even the few stops along the hike for the existential crisis discussions about climbing were pretty cool! 😂)
Here are the highlights of what I think went into your send:
- Showing up and doing the work!! Even when you were tired and stressed about other things (piano exams)
- short shorts to do the hike in (courtesy of your kick-ass Physio @adventuresporttherapy Leanne)
- working on your mobility and trying to get your hips open even a millimeter more 🤞
- having gym sessions with your mentor/coach/friend @joshmuller where he says “just do the climb dude.”
- having great support from friends like @zmcgurk (who doesn’t complain when you copy his harness, rope, and draw choices!). How many times did he hike up to cheer you on, belay and photograph you? 🙏
- when you forget your harness and @themccallionstallion Brendan happily hikes one up 😅 with a smile on his face
- hanging with great friends like @liz.maffett @divathedog and @mattemccormick who make the day pass by with lots of laughs and conversation.
- almost perfect conditions (thank you mother nature 🌍) although there was still complaining by many (you) that it was too hot!
- a mom who reminds you to put on your helmet
- PURE JOY in taking down your draws!!!!
I loved watching you have so much fun and achieve this massive goal. ❤️❤️❤️ love you!

Here’s a recap of what went down this Friday! 👀

Super proud of our youth team and everything they’ve accomplished! This past Friday we held a mock comp for our athletes going to @ifsclimbing Youth Bouldering Worlds and we wanted to share with you some of those epic moments! If you haven’t had a chance to come climb on some of these boulders, make sure to stop by Chinook for a session 🔥

Fun to spend Canada Day 🇨🇦 in the Rockies!

It stopped raining!! Such a beautiful day to finally get back up to Ace with Adam 💪 . Psych was high, humidity was low 👏👏. Super fun to see familiar friendly faces and to dust off my belay skills. FUN FACT: climbers love when you pretend to be super rusty and put the rope backwards into the Grigri just as they are ready to climb 😂😂. Also, when your climber has been grumpy or sassy, it’s perfectly acceptable to lower them ALMOST to the ground and let them hang there until they say something nice.
