NOMINATED: Proud to share our story on Hope Kittel’s remarkable journey to world champion has been nominated for an Emmy in the Chicago/Midwest chapter!

Thank you to Hope, Tom Miazga, and Jason Olejniczak from Adapt & Conquer for opening up to us for this story. An inspiration!

Since this story aired last year, Hope REPEATED as “Fittest Seated Woman on Earth” and Tom won his TENTH STRAIGHT “Fittest Seated Man on Earth” championship, making him the most fittest seated man of all time!

As always, amazing work from Jerry Imig and Susanne Barthel brought the story to life and an honored to share this nomination with you.

Congratulations to my many CBS 58 and Telemundo Wisconsin coworkers that were also nominated, and to the many colleagues that I have so much respect and admiration for that earned a nomination as well.

Emmys are October 24th in Chicago!

THIS WEEK is “Bring A Friend to CrossFit” at my gym in Cedarburg. Local friends, wanna come with me and check out @unitedtrainingfoundation - home of @adaptnconquer

Gary and I started last July, and nine months later, it’s the place we call home for our fitness. We love the workouts, and we love our CrossFit family!

It’s easy to be intimidated. But rest assured, coaches are patient, attendees are kind and encouraging, everything can be adapted, and you can modify as needed. Depending on what class you attend, you could work out with people in their teens, or in their seventies, and every age in between.

Classes are at 5am, 6am, 9am, noon, and 5pm. A trainer leads each class, starting with a warm-up, usually a strength component, and then a timed workout portion. I watched our coach, Jason, help a newbie out this morning with 1-on-1 instruction. You aren’t left floundering.

Gary and I go to the 9 am class, but we’d love to change it up if a different time works better for you.

If you’re interested, message me, message Gary, or comment below!

I’VE STARED DEATH IN THE FACE AND NOW IM A 2X GOLD MEDALIST.

may i never take for granted the impossibility of the life i get to live. there is no way i get to call myself the Fittest Seated Woman on Earth or a WZA Champion without the people who have sat with me in hell, held my hand in the pain, wiped my tears in the suffering, and picked me up when i had nothing left. there is no better way to celebrate the miracle of the past 3 years than on one of the biggest stages, surrounded by my chosen family. i am blessed beyond measure.

no matter what they say, your story ISN’T finished yet. fight like hell — for your next breath, your people, your dreams, your life. this moment is all you have, LIVE for it.
