📝 - Saturday Stack 📚 Skeleton Stack 💀

Was tagged by @morallygreyaddict to make a Skeleton stack and it was the only excuse I needed to show off some skeleton Halloween socks 😁 realised I didn’t have many spooky season socks so had to get a few. Now I have about 10 pairs 🤦🏻‍♂️ so expect spooky Christmas and New Years posts just so I can make the most of them!

Hope you’ve had a good Saturday. I had the joy of working so was absolutely pants!! Oh and speaking of pants… pretend you didn’t see my pink ones on show. I rushed retaking those ones as, yet again, I fucked the spelling up on previous attempts. Hence the flashing and the pissed off face 😂 I may save those ones in case anyone wants to tag me in a SKELENON stack

Tagging more of you to make sure your spelling is up to scratch!

✨𝓑𝓸𝓸𝓴 𝓡𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀✨

I’ve held off reading this for so long!Mainly because I just loved the cover and I am one of these people that saves the best til last! I don’t know what @addictivelybookish excuse is as we’ve buddy Read this together, probably something similar 😂

Now is the part where I try to summarise our feelings into a sentence;
AND IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THIS MAYBE HOLD OFF READING FURTHER.

Loved the first 3/4 of this. The vibes, the friendship and the way Grady writes is addictive. I’m personally a sucker for any kind of 80s themed movie/book.

One of the final chapters involved something that literally made me clench 😂 like my worst thing in horror. BUT that was fine. We’re all for the gross factor.

BUT, the final outcome for the family pet. Im sorry guys, but this dropped this book down from the Loved it section to the liked it department.
It’s no shocker a lot of us don’t enjoy animal deaths in books but, if they’re not repeatedly mentioned after the incident,I’m kind of accepting to the fact that it’s part of the story or the reflection of the character.
What got me was no human actually gets killed off. Might sound morbid here but I’d of been happier if Gretchen had slaughtered everyone else off but the pet survived! (I mean some of the characters were pretty annoying so they probably deserved it just for not listening to the FMC the whole time)

There was one line mentioned further near the end that repeated the fact that animals have trust in us and honestly it made my heart drop.

We’re still giving this one a 4 ⭐️ for it being a fast paced read & a bit of a different take on exorcising demons! Not to mention the 80s tracks & ET referencing! 🙌🏻

Right , let’s get back to some books on deprivation and dismemberment . Humans only😂 #bookstagram #books #bookreview #horror

Realised I hadn’t done another spooky mug stack match this month of all months!
I mean this one isn’t particular spooky at all because it’s rather cute! 🖤

These are all still on my tbr of course!

I’ll tag a few if you incase anyone else fancies an excuse to show off a favourite mug but needs an incentive to do it.

Happy Monday ✌🏻 #bookstagram #books #ᴍᴏɴᴅᴀʏᴍᴏᴏᴅ #matching #tbr

Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark collection from @litjoycrate

I'm not sure any other books traumatized an entire generation quite like Alvin Schwartz's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark did in the '80s and '90s. And it wasn't just the stories. It was the creepy artwork that gave kids everywhere nightmares and made sure we never looked at a dark corner of the room the same way again.

So when I saw LitJoy Crate's special collected edition featuring all three volumes, there was no question it needed a spot on the shelf next to my originals. And this thing is an absolute showstopper.

Spooky metal corners. Straps with skeleton hand clasps. Claw marks debossed into the cover. That beat-up, ancient tome look. And inside is all the original artwork that scarred us as kids, plus new art that fits those nightmare fuel vibes.

These books were a rite of passage for '80s and '90s kids. Passing them around at school, reading ghost stories at sleepovers, and flipping through those terrifying illustrations when we probably should have been asleep. This special edition is a spooky book lovers dream. A must for horror fans and a perfect throwback to the creepy nostalgic series that started it all.

Who else grew up reading these?

QOTD: What childhood book would you love to see get the special edition treatment?

Colour match stack 💙🧡

Has so much fun with the last one, I wanted to try it again (with the only other flavour i ike!)

Inspired by the talented @mydarkmoodreads and @flip_the_page who always knock these out the park!

I thought it would be harder to match blue and orange, but I think this works quite well! Tagged some for the fun. If you don’t like Monster feel free to match anything to anything. I don’t make the rules!
