Hero’s Dose

An album of duo music from Scott Flynn & Ethan Snyder

is out now

From Scott:

Ethan and I have known each other and played together off and on for over 20 years, and I’ve always felt that the trust and friendship we share comes through in the music we make. He has a feel and a vibe all his own — a true “lead drummer” in every sense — so making this record together was a no-brainer. The whole process felt easy, fun, and full of joyful surprises, and I’m really happy and honored to finally share this music with the world. Stay tuned for more!

From Ethan:

Scott and I met one fateful night in the fall of 2005 at the weekly free improv jam at the Lily Pad in Cambridge, and hit it off immediately. He was one of the few people at Berklee who really understood where I was coming from musically, and we’ve remained close ever since. You never know where life will take you, but getting to reconnect musically after all these years reminded me just how special that connection has always been. Playing duo together again felt as natural and effortless as it did 20 years ago, and we couldn’t have asked for a better person than Adrian to help bring it all to life.

This record means a lot to me, not just because of the music, but because of the friendship behind it. I think that connection comes through in the sounds we made together, and I’m really happy to finally put this one out into the world. Hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed making it.

The day we married, I said the one thing I was sure of in life was that I was supposed to be with you. 12 years later, that remains true. You’re my partner, my confidante, my best friend. Here’s to us! I love you!
