SUPPORT THE ARTIST. SEE THE PERSON.

We see the work. But how often do we see the person behind it?

The sacrifices. The stories. The parts we don’t always share.

VISIBLY INVISIBLE is making space for both sides.

VISIBLY — What you choose to show the world.

INVISIBLE — What you wish the world understood.

🎨 CALL FOR ARTISTS IS NOW OPEN.

Detroit | November 20–22 | Deadline 11.12.26

Apply through the link in bio.

Tag an artist whose story deserves to be seen.

When community is your capital, you shift culture, not just partake in it. @culturecon gave me tools and templates to scale my income while maintaining integrity. After focus groups allowed me to advocate for panels discussing the “how” behind “what” they’re doing, and to expand opportunities for grassroots creatives with facility beyond large followings, I’m thankful to see the summit grow in giving artists tangible takeaways toward success.

Thank you @imaniimani @__quatia for honoring my dedication to feedback through grants, allowing me to attend for the first time after years assisting digital and talent faculty, while inviting fellow Detroit theatre & filmmakers @lowrld10 @jalen_xavier_ @maleekrae .

To those who gathered, I honor you all’s commitment to this craft. May our gardens bloom beyond imagination. 🙌🏾

Detroit | CultureCon 2026

Culture starts with Detroit and this weekend, Detroit took over Brooklyn!

Representing the city on the CultureCon stage: Addofio Addo, City of Detroit Director of Retail Attraction, and Amber M. Lewis, Founder of Social N the City.

The Spirit of Detroit brought that unmistakable Detroit energy to CultureCon, showing the world what happens when creativity, culture and community collide.

From the creatives to the entrepreneurs, marketers, media professionals and culture-shapers. Detroit showed up and showed out.

Detroit doesn’t follow culture. We create it. 🖤

Three years ago, before I moved back to Detroit, I went to Eastern Market After Dark during Month of Design. I didn’t really know what Month of Design was at the time — I just knew I left thinking, I want to be a part of this somehow.

I didn’t know what that would look like. I just followed the curiosity.

Fast forward to today, and I’m producing a signature Month of Design event — bringing artists and designers into the Station, creating new spaces for them to share their work, and helping design an experience that activates nearly every corner of the campus.

This month, I’ve also gotten to be a student again, seeing what other people are creating and leaving inspired every single time.

And this moment feels especially full circle with the biggest Fridays at the Station yet— all centered around art, design, music and Detroit creativity.

📍living in an answered prayer 🙏🏾

1. Signature event. Still kind of wild to say that 🤯
2. The quiet moments before we fill this place up.
3. I learn so much from the artists I work with — especially watching this duo take their craft seriously and move as a team.
4. A curator, an artist and a collector enter a room 🖼️ The beginning of a great story.
5. New furniture from Where We Belong exhibit.
6. Design that asks you to participate.
7. (Sub)surface. Still thinking about this one.
8. When photography, art + faith all live in the same practice.
9. Ashanti told me, “anything is possible.” After seeing what she creates with projection, I believe her.
10. In the mix but deadlines do not care.
11. Orlando in conversation with Spike Lee. DOPE.
12. Justin + Akua talking creativity + storytelling. Again DOPE.
13. Witnessing friends intentionally build community around an idea.
14. The doc-tah!
15. Grounding.
16. A piece that stopped me in my tracks.
17. Sound On.
18. Showing up for the artists before they show up for me.
19. 2023. Eastern Market After Dark. I had no idea what Month of Design was. I just knew I wanted to be part of it.
20. 2023 before I even knew what was to come w/ @heyitsmaryk_ @iam_kendrarenee
