15 years ago, the Igloo went dark for the last time. While the early playoff exit stung, the real sadness was the end of an era. While Habs fans and family members gathered in a section down by the ice to celebrate, something else was going on. Many Pens fans just sat in their orange, nacho stained seats, under that steel dome, taking it all in for the last time. After a while, a tribute video started playing on the jumbotron. All that could be heard from the faithful were memories and emotions. Things were just never the same. Just because something is new and shiny, it doesn't mean it's better. 🐧 🏒 🥅 🖤 💛

Well, we're at three years in a row that the Pens have missed the playoffs following a 16-year streak dating back to Sid's 2nd season in 2007. Here's a throwback to happier times. The D23 girls at the Igloo in 2008, during the exciting ride to the Cup Finals. The first trip to the Finals in 15 years and the first of 4 trips to the Finals in the Crosby era. 🐧 🏒 🥅 🖤 💛 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
