We are excited to announce the artists selected for SPEAK VOLUMES, the first edition of Projet Betula’s screening series. Bringing together 17 experimental films and moving-image works that examine themes of memory and haunting. It explores how the past manifests as fragments, glitches, pauses, and returns. The screenings are organised into three thematic sessions: When History Returns, Haunted Grounds, and Private Echoes. This structure takes the audience from mythologised historical traces to charged non-places, and finally into intimate archives where loss and language continually resurface. 13 September, 14:00 –17:00 Cinéma OUT OF THE BLUE @outoftheblue_paris , Paris Selected artists: Alisa Kutsenko @_alisakutsenko Antonio Paoletti @antonio.plt Arnaldo Drés González @adozalez Chayarat Ritaram Nespy5euro @nespy5euro Jo Jovel @jocowboy_ Joonhee Myung (junos) @joon_writes_2022 Katherina Sadovsky @sadovskykat Lana Bogdanovskaia @frailoud Maja Bojanić Miguel Rozas Balboa @miguelrozasbalboa Nazanin Noroozi @nazaninnoroozi Pavel Checkulaev @pavel_checkulaev Ruslan Zhubanysh @tauelxsiz Sergei Prokofiev @serge.prokofiev Sofia Borges Tianming Zhou @alaricollection The event is curated by Daria Gnatchenko @gnatchenkoworks , Sofia Kuznetsova @roryoshe , and Guest Curator Louise Bouvet-Zieleskiewicz @loukiewicz Design by Zhamilia Tranbaeva @jaycomeinpeace Full program: Link in bio

❤️‍🔥 What would music be without friendship? 🎶💛 Still glowing from the magic of Better Together – Music Without Borders at @kulturschlosswandsbek. An intimate, theatrical night where songs were stripped to their soul — carried by light, silence, and stories meant to connect us. But the true highlight? Seeing dear friends, old and new, show up with open hearts. Your presence turned this concert into something far beyond the stage. Grateful for every embrace, every smile, every shared moment. This journey is nothing without you. Here’s to friendship, music, and everything that brings us closer. 🕊 #BetterTogether #MusicWithoutBorders #FriendshipAndMusic #UnpluggedConcert #Gratitude #IntimateNights #LiveMusicMoments ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

13/09/2025 14:00-17:00 @outoftheblue_paris Daria and Sofia kindly invited me to guest curate (as one does) their next screening event. I wrote a few words about the first six films of the program, talking about epistemological ghosts, digital architecture and the painting of an US Air Force. I hope you will enjoy the films as much as I did. 🌀 🕯️ @gnatchenkoworks @roryoshe

“Resguardo y Presencia” (Shelter and Presence) By Arnaldo Drés González Opening Fr. 25 Nov at 18hr Sa-So 26-27 Nov 15-20hrs Free Entrance A Performance Art (Digital Photography / Video / Installation) ongoing project documenting body actions and moving objects in the landscape, exploring human connections between reality and the metaphor of a character in a cultural and geographic context. In 2012, González began this project when on his first trip abroad (Canary Islands) he set his sights on the green fabrics that covered the facades of the old houses on the island of Tenerife. González decontextualizes its protective function by thinking about what would happen if we ourselves covered our bodies with this material. Arnaldo Drés González is a visual artist (1986) from Caracas – Venezuela. Descendant of Spanish grandparents (Canary Islands). Since 2014 lives and works in Hamburg, Germany. His art practice explores body languages through fine arts and new media. The problems of the diaspora, the strangeness and peculiarities of home and abroad in relation to his own body, his thinking, feeling and action have become an integral part of his artistic process. In this context, his works are based on visual poetry from analog and digital environments that depict the figuration and abstraction of the human body as well as the landscape in order to generate reflections about identity in the migration context. En Tránsito 27 - 30 April 2023 Sa Punta des Molí Sant Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza, Spain Together with other curators and artists: Claudius Strack, Maxi Montaño, Swen Kählert & Arnaldo Drés González, Michael Dörner, Clemencia Labin, Galerie Melike Bilir and guests. Artists are often travellers with no destination. They look for places where their ideas find refuge. They are nomads for whom freedom is more important than economic needs. When Walter Benjamin stayed in the Can Frasquito annex of Sa Punta des Molí, between 1932 and 1933, he was concerned among other things, about the Passagen-Werk, the Berlin Chronicle and Experience and Poverty. For Walter Benjamin, the island itself was a place of transition, where elements of nature are combined with culture. As a Jew fleeing the National Socialists, he himself was affected by emigration and found himself in a constant conflict of change. That moving space, read by transtemporal artistic practice, is the perfect combination to pose a challenge. This challenge has been taken up by a group of artists and curators, who have dedicated themselves to the obvious theme of space and transition, but also to the problem of massification, the economy and mobility. For a week, we will work to point out a constantly changing reality, but also to artistically process problems that have become visible as a result, such as migration, mass tourism and fear. We ask ourselves questions like: What drives people to constantly move around the globe? What role does the identity of the person play? Where is our home? Can the history of humanity be understood as a continuous transit? Reel: @melike_bilir

Thoughtfully designed lighting shaped the atmosphere of Topographies of Tents, Terracotta, and Time at Srishti Art Gallery, celebrating 25 years of artistic excellence. Curated by Matthew Patridge, the exhibition showcased works by Arnaldo Drés González, Sudhakar Chippa, and Swen Kählert. With Parscan XS and Opton family spotlights from @ercolighting , the lighting was meticulously tailored to enhance depth, texture, and contrast. By playing with light and shadow, it not only highlighted artistic nuances but also enriched the overall viewing experience, making the gallery truly come alive.
