There’s nothing like getting humbled by your 4yo daughter.

How she explains my work trips to her kinder teachers:
“Mum goes on holidays”

I’m not sure what she thinks I do for work but in her eyes I:
• eats lots of food (not wrong)
• goes to the city (any city)
• takes videos

If only it was that simple!

Here’s a recap of my recent Sydney trip with @ads.pixels, narrated by my 4yo 😂

Sydney is soon becoming my favourite city.

Last month, I spent 48 hours there bouncing between client meetings, strategy chats, work dinners and somehow still finding time to sightsee.

One of the best parts about freelance marketing is that no two weeks ever look the same. One week I’m on farms in regional Australia, the next I’m in Sydney meeting new people and working with food & ag businesses.

Fun fact about me: I’m a sucker for any new or viral restaurant, cafe or sandwich shop… so naturally my Sydney trips are becoming just as much about the food itinerary as the work one.

A short (but very sweet) trip to Sydney with some of the Murray River Salt crew…

· Visiting some of our fav distributors and stockists
· Finding pink salt in the wild
· Eating our way through the city

What Sydney spots shall we go to next? 👀

How much can @ads.pixels and I possibly fit into 48hrs in Melbourne?

Turns out… a lot.

We headed to Melb to shoot a new content series for one of my clients - what a dream!

My biggest takeaway? People in food are so 👏 darn 👏 nice.

P.S. let’s just pretend I didn’t ghost you all for the last 4 months.

DIY Kaffir Lime Salt🧂

The perfect seasoning for vegetables, avocado, seafood and Asian style cooking!

Ingredients
• Kaffir lime leaves — 40%
• Murray River Salt flakes — 60%

Method
Dehydrate the kaffir lime leaves
This step is important to remove moisture and help prolong the life of the salt blend.
Dehydrator: approx. 8 hours on high
Oven alternative:
Line a baking tray with parchment paper, lay out the kaffir lime leaves evenly, and bake at a low temperature for 60–70 minutes, turning occasionally.
The leaves should be completely dry and brittle before moving to the next step.
Grind the leaves
Once cooled, grind the dried kaffir lime leaves using a mortar and pestle (or blender) until finely broken down.
Combine with salt
Add the Murray River Salt flakes and give the mixture a light grind, just enough to combine while keeping the flake texture intact.

The fragrance when working with fresh kaffir lime leaves is incredible, it really fills the space. Finished this way, it feels like a perfect pantry addition, especially for seasoning on vegetables, avocado, seafood and Asian style cooking where that subtle citrus aroma really shines.

We hope yesterday was filled with long lunches, good company, full flavoured food and a generous sprinkle of pink salt.

A quick reminder that our team is taking a well deserved break - any orders placed between now and 4 January will be packed and shipped from 5 January onwards.

We’re grateful for all of your support and can’t wait to bring even more flavour to your table in 2026 🤍

What’s getting us through winter? A warm, pillowy focaccia sprinkled with Murray River Salt pink flakes.

Freshly baked at @brassmonkeyrestaurant, it’s comfort food done right!

Wow what a year! 2024 was nothing short of amazing for photography for me. As a weather nerd it has been a blast shooting all types of conditions that nature had to offer, even though this was the first year for me that I didn’t get out as much as I’d like to, but I am hoping that will change next year. Happy new years everyone, enjoy 🤘🏼
