It’s a very strange feeling not finishing where you thought you might and aimed to. After doing this expedition we realised that the end goal is just a very small factor, amending and adjusting our goals was necessary in this endeavour. We might not have achieved our distance but concentrating on our sustainability goals has been more than we could imagine. We collected over double the weight of our own boat in ocean plastics, helped communities clean their local waters and importantly got to know that amazing seafaring nation of Norway.

we have also come to realise that the Nordic endeavour doesn’t have to just stop here following sustainability goals and pushing limits. We hope to carry on caring for the seas around us, cleaning them of the pollution we put in them and raising awareness that no matter how small every little helps and everyone can play apart. The Nordic Endeavour does not end with this expedition.

2000kms from Kirkenes to Ålesund ✅

While not Oslo, we are grateful to have made it 2000kms through a lot of rain, rain, and more rain, and some very stormy seas with a little amount of sunshine thrown in.

From not one rudder break, but two … not only did we make it, we cleared up a whole lot of rubbish from the ocean and beaches along the way!

We met amazing local communities, fellow adventurers, and a few whales too.

While the rowing itself is over - for now - the purpose of this challenge isn’t. We want to continue our objectives of protecting our marine environment and raising money for the wonderful charity, Air Ambulances UK.

You can donate to @airambulances using the link in our bio ⭐️

* and you can continue to send us photos of your ocean clean ups, so we can support @plastfritthav and @rewildnorway 🌊 again, links for this are in our bio as well.

Once again,

THANK YOU 💙

Well we have finally done it 2000 km later two tons of trash collected and some very sore hands and bums but what a trip it was.

A big thanks to all the support throughout this whole journey we couldn’t have done it without everybody contributing.

We still plan to continue raising money a bit longer for our charities and our causes feel free to help us out as much as you can.

Another thank you to our sponsors you have been incredible and amazing partners without your faith in us missions like this would not be possible

After battling some pretty rough weather out to see we eventually made it to shore and had a good rest. With again full day of strong winds we had to stay put so we got out there and cleaned as much ocean waste as possible. It didn’t take long before we had 10 bags of plastic, old fish nets and cans.

We had a once in a lifetime encounter with a pilot whale who seemed to have lost its pod, and needed a little bit of love 💙

This is a reminder for us to keep our ocean - and this wonderful whales home - clean and free of rubbish 🙌🏼

This week our rowing has looked a little different, and the weather really hasn’t been on our side!

But, morale is high, and we are finding amusement in the challenges 🤣

Another update from Support Crew Steve 👋🏻

A huge thank you to all the wonderful local communities who have taken a keen interest in the challenge and also helped when the rain and weather got too much - it’s fair to say Steve is rather chuffed with the kindness of everyone he has met so far!

The challenge wouldn’t be possible without this support and warmth from local communities - you are amazing! 💙

Some critical communications with The Bracer radio system by @qinetiqgroup . Communication plays a key role in this expedition and without a reliable system you could end up in a lot of trouble.

We have been lucky enough with Norway’s 5G coverage but every now and then we head out wide and rely on this incredible radio system to stay in touch with Steve in our support vehicle. Late last night we had some rough weather and needed to stay in touch with the land crew for timings coming in.

After a good night sleep we are heading out wide to catch some winds and take us to our next location. Next planned stop we will be suiting up and Diving in collecting trash and doing an ocean cleanup. Before that it’s row row row.

Before and after the @nordic_endeavour_2026 cleanup in Tromsø Harbour.

We’re rowing from Kirkenes to Ålesund, and wherever we make landfall, we try to leave the coastline a little cleaner than we found it.

During the expedition, we’re documenting marine litter, organising cleanups and encouraging others to join the effort.

On rewildnorge.com you can follow our live tracker, read about the expedition, register your own cleanup and see how much we have collected so far.

50 NOK = one big bag of trash removed from nature.

We clean as much as we can ourselves, and the rest of the donations will be donated to @plastfritthav to support even more cleanups.

3,000 km. 6 weeks. 4 men. 1 vessel. 🌊

Our friend—and @mareaoslo team member—@MartinHelseth and the crew of the @nordic_endeavour_2026 Nordic Endeavour Voyage have now rowed more than 1,000 km on their extraordinary expedition along Norway’s coastline, documenting marine life and removing marine litter every step of the way.

Rowing in rotating two-hour shifts, day and night, the team has adapted to challenging conditions in Finnmark and is now aiming to reach Ålesund by August 22.

Every stop is a chance to leave the shoreline cleaner than they found it.

At Marea, we’re proud to celebrate this initiative that brings together science, restoration, community, and adventure to protect our shared waters.

A huge thank you to @rewildnorway and everyone on the Nordic Endeavour Voyage for their commitment to Norway’s coast. 💙

Follow their journey in real time on their instagram.
