👻 7th Annual Halloween Costume Contest & Golden Retriever Meet Up! 🎃

📅 Sunday, October 25th at 3 PM

🏆 Costume contest prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place and 1st prize for siblings/friends of Golden Retrievers!

👻 Costume line up and judging begin at 4 PM!

💛 This year, we’re coming together for something bigger than costumes and golden retrievers.

In light of the recent tragedy in our community, we’ve decided to turn this year’s meet up into a toy drive benefiting the children of Silver Rail Elementary.

🧸 We encourage everyone attending to bring a NEW, UNWRAPPED TOY to donate. Let’s come together as a community and bring a little extra joy to these kiddos during such a difficult time.

We’re also honored to have students from Silver Rail Elementary joining us as our special guest judges for this year’s costume contest! 🐾❤️

We’re so excited to host our 7th annual Halloween meet up and costume contest, and even more grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community.

We appreciate every single entry, and especially all of the new faces who have followed along and joined our little Golden Life 🐕 community.

For anyone who is new here—hi, I’m Brooke! 👋 I’m a mom of three, currently pregnant with our fourth, and I have two golden retrievers, Molly and Shadow. Before starting The Golden Life, I bred Molly. She is CHIC certified, did well with her OFA health & genetic testing, and after her fourth litter I had her spayed and kept one of her puppies—our boy Shadow. Responsible breeding, preserving the health of the breed, and giving puppies the best possible start has always been something I care deeply about. 🙏🏻

When that chapter came to an end, The Golden Life became a way for me to take that love in a different direction. Instead of focusing only on the dog, I wanted to celebrate the life humans get to live alongside their dogs—the walks, hikes, road trips, everyday adventures, and all of the memories in between. Because to us, “Live Life Golden” is just as much about the relationship as it is about the dog. 🐾

And now… congratulations to @adventures_with_biscuits 🎉💛

Biscuits may have crossed the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 but from everything you shared together, it’s clear that he truly lived his life golden. ☀️ We hope this hat can be a sweet little reminder of all the adventures, love, and beautiful memories you two made together.

Let me introduce you to my friend Biscuits. His life was cut short but the memories we made in that short time have been so meaningful. We love you forever B and I hope you are running pain free among the stars with Kiko and all the other innocent beautiful souls there.

I may have lost yet another brother during my lifetime but one day I’ll see you both again. Just not today… but one day.

Rest easy, Biscuits 💛

We were so lucky to know this perfect boy. He touched the hearts of so many. From his service dog work, to his therapy dog work, to attending so many @centraloregongoldens meet ups, to camping trips, sleepovers, and all the adventures in between.

Biscuits and Buoy were so alike in so many ways, and I think that’s why they clicked so well…eventually. 😆 (Buoy wasn’t exactly a fan of Biscuits constantly licking his face when he was a puppy.)

Summer and Biscuits are the kind of friends who show up when your world is falling apart post break up, agree to get matching tattoos at 10 pm on a snowy winter night, and somehow make you laugh through the tears. That’s just the kind of person Summer is.

I could go on and on about the silly nights, the walks, the camping trip, the meet ups, and all the memories we made together. But what stands out most is the bond you two shared. It was truly inseparable, and Biscuits couldn’t have asked for a better mom.

I’m going to miss seeing him sprint across the parking lot the second you parked. I’m going to miss the Biscuits and Buoy snuggles. I’m going to miss watching them work together and getting to share so many adventures with both of them.

Thank you, Biscuits, for loving so many people so well. And thank you, Summer, for letting us love your incredible boy.

You’re pain free, sweet Biscuit. 🌈💛 I know you were greeted with open paws by so many of your friends. Say hi to them for us 🪽

Sometimes life hands the best people the hardest cards.

Biscuit isn’t just Buoy’s cousin..he’s his wingman, his partner in crime, and the one everyone gravitates toward when they need a little extra love 💛

And Summer… she’s not just Biscuits’ mom. She’s my best friend. She’s been there for me during some of my worst, most overwhelming moments. She’s shown up without hesitation, without judgment, and with more love than I ever knew I needed. 💗

Watching someone who has carried me through my hardest seasons walk through something so unfair is heartbreaking.

Today, our dear friend Biscuits is having surgery, and we’re sending all the love, strength, and belly rubs his way. 💛

Biscuits is going in today for his fourth leg surgery, a TPLO, to help him maintain his normal, happy way of life. This sweet boy has faced more than his fair share, and he continues to show up with the same joyful spirit we all know and love. 🦿🐾

Biscuits and his amazing human, Summer, have been such a bright, joyful part of our community and our Central Oregon Golden Retriever Meet-Up family. From spreading smiles at every event to lighting up travelers at the airport through his therapy dog work, and bringing joy to thousands through social media, Biscuits has always been one of the happiest pups.

Now it’s our turn to put a smile on their faces. 😊

We’re raising support for Biscuits’ care at VRCCO under the name “Biscuits and Summer.” Any amount helps — truly. Big love for anything you can contribute. 🙏

We honestly can’t believe this chapter is closing for our family. What started as a dream turned into something so much bigger than we ever imagined. Because of this incredible community, we were able to help thousands of pets, sell products all over the U.S., partner with over 20 retail locations, and continue growing year after year.
While it’s incredibly hard to say goodbye, we are accepting that this is the end of the road for Peaceful Pet Supplements. We are forever grateful that we had the chance to get CBD into the paws that truly needed and deserved it.
