World # 2

This year brought a fresh program, new bike, training myself, as well as balancing creative projects, pursuing a full-time business degree, racing, and building more ways to hopefully stoke others on riding bikes. I wouldn’t want it any other way, and reflecting on this result brings me immense gratitude for the people who support me day in a day out to chase my dreams.

I ended my last World Cup in the ER unsure if I had broken my neck, and 8 weeks later was able to be a few seconds off of a world championship in Finale.

To my family, girlfriend, friends, and support network in this unreal community, thank you for inspiring, motivating, and being there for me through the ups and downs.

It feels crazy to end the race season with one of the proudest results of my career, but I’m more stoked than ever to keep learning and evolving. Only one way to go, and enduro is only getting better and better.

@transbcenduro wrapped up yesterday, and this week was the of the most insane I’ve had on two wheels. After almost two hours of blind racing, I’m pumped to come out with the win.

Revelstoke, Nakusp, Kaslo, and Nelson, it was amazing to be able to see how much effort each community has put into building and maintaining world class riding zones and sharing it with this event. It was also rad to spend 6 days riding alongside so many cool people, all digging deep and pushing themselves throughout the week.

So many things lined up to make the overnight trek from Bromont to Revelstoke work for @lief.rodgers and I, and I am so grateful that I was able to experience this week with an insane crew. The Trans Canada boys went well.

A massive thank you goes out to Megan and her team for putting on a world class event, as well as the host communities for welcoming racers into their backyard. If you haven’t raced this, it should be at the top of your bucket list!

Nothing like a good @squamishenduro side quest. Earlier this summer we spent a mid-event day off checking out some of the best Squamish spots with the Jamieson brothers. Not a bad way to spend a day off at all.

On Vancouver Island’s Mount Prevost, Aedan Skinner (@aedanskinner) set out to Everest on a mountain bike in the middle of winter.

The original plan looked almost reasonable: 23 laps, roughly a full day on the bike, finishing sometime after sunrise the following day and as close to the winter solstice as possible.

Instead, it became 27 laps, 126 km, 31 hours (17 in darkness), freezing rain, fresh snow, numb feet, hallucinations and enough small problems to end the ride early a dozen times over.

The new short from Lazy Sundays Studio (@lazy.sundays.studio), “Against Better Judgement,” follows Skinner’s attempt and explores what drives people to test their limits.
