What a lovely experience to represent The Dare to Dream Foundation today at the AEI luncheon for Naomi Schaefer Riley as she discusses her latest writing, “No Way To Treat A Child.” We sat side by side and our conversation was endless. I believe that’s what happens when you step into what God ordains for you. The room changes because I too was a child who felt and still feel the pains of childhood trauma. To be here in this mansion, representing an organization who’s worked to change lives all over the world and still going strong 37 years later is a blessed honor and confirmation of what’s to come. My story shouldn’t have led me here, BUT GOD! ❤️
Today, Naomi discussed child welfare and foster care issues. Specifically, analyzing the role of faith-based, civic, and community organizations in changing the foster care and adoption services landscape and its impact on child welfare. There is so much work to be done and many challenges but together we can make a difference for our children. With love, unity and vision, we can and will impact change. Huge gratitude to Dare to Dream and American Enterprise Institute. 💜 #moretocome🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

According to a recent report from grantee @brookingsinst as part of the Future of the Middle Class Initiative along with their partner @aei, Black adults in their 30s are 16 times more likely than white adults to be in the third generation of poverty in a row, showing the persistence of unequal economic opportunity for Black Americans. It's time to change this narrative, one that has persisted for far too long. I attended an @aei Hispanic politics conference last week and it left me feeling empowered and inspired. We are the future of this country and we need more open conversations. I met incredible minds and learned an awful lot, can’t wait to be more one day.

🇻🇦”God has saved us and called us to a holy life, not because of any merit of ours but according to his own design—the grace held out to us in Christ Jesus before the world began. (2 Timothy 1:9)

Confiding in the Lord’s guidance, they feared nothing.
—He led them into his holy land.”🕊

Civil Rights icon Robert Woodson’s approach was based in experience. He understood that just because people were living in a community on the edge, it didn’t mean they weren’t looking around it for examples of integrity, dignity, and honor. “My approach was to be that vehicle to provide those examples.”
Woodson began his career at the height of the civil rights movement in the 1960s in Philadelphia. “After years of being involved with the movement, I realized that the poverty programs aimed at making lives better for the poor only made life better for those who ran those places. And that the movement was moving away from improving civil rights and into a race-grievance industry."

“I looked around and decided that I was in the wrong struggle,” said Woodson. Eventually, in 1981, he founded the center to guide residents of low-income neighborhoods so that they could address the problems of their communities themselves.
