The Lady Chapel @glastonburyabbey painted here in acrylic, pencil and walnut ink on a mixed media paper by @artby_marianne .This special place is the precise crossing of the Michael & Mary ley lines, the most Christian employment of telluric energy in the area. The juxtaposition of Romanesque & Gothic leads to the characterisation of this place as transitional. Please come and visit the @art_of_Transitional_Spaces exhibition in Wells to see the original. @wellsmuseum

What does it mean to you?….
@the_art_of_transitional_spaces

Wells Cathedral info

During the 14th century, the east end of the church was almost entirely rebuilt, and the central tower finished. No sooner had the great central tower been finished than it became obvious that its weight was too great for the crossing.
The innovative solution to this architectural challenge, created by the master mason William Joy, was a set of strainer arches on each side of the crossing. These exquisitely decorative arches otherwise know as The Scissors Arches - are pierced by wide circular holes, creating a diagonal cross said to be modelled after the saltire cross of St Andrew, to whom the church is dedicated

Looking forward to exhibiting with artists marianne lower king @ @artby_marianne

I’m proud to be exhibiting in #wells #somerset at the @wellsmuseum alongside artists Freddie Bird @afbleather & Lorraine Reilly Millington @lorrainereillymillingtonartist. Interested in the art of transitional spaces, we realised we share a common theme in the imagery we create. We will be there … so come and say hi @the_art_of_transitional_spaces exhibition March 7th-25th.
