🇺🇸 MEET THE 12 OAY 🇺🇸

⭐ TECHNICAL SERGEANT GEORGE A. DISTEL ⭐
Superintendent, Plans and Programs
📍 49th Security Forces Squadron | Holloman Air Force Base, N.M.
🏠 Home of Record: Ambler, Penn.

While deployed as NCOIC of Operations, Distel helped shape the future of Air Force combat operations during the Israel-Iran 12-Day War.

Stepping up to serve in a critical senior master sergeant role, Distel commanded 241 Defenders, protected 99 alert aircraft, and led Security Forces’ first-ever kinetic kills of two suicide drones during a massive attack involving more than 460 missiles and 77 drones.

This exceptional combat leadership earned him the Air and Space Commendation Medal with “C” device and a Gallant Unit Citation.

Distel also established the AOR’s first Coyote missile reloading team, showcasing unprecedented technical adaptability. This rapid-reload capability dramatically shortened weapon turnaround times and earned him the prestigious Air Force Central Command Innovation Excellence Award.

He spearheaded host-nation training to secure a 484-square-mile zone against 38 threats, authored the theater’s first Joint Site Defense Plan, and was selected for the Wing Security Forces Functional Annual Award.

🔥 Defending the mission. Leading under fire. Redefining the fight.🔥

Fly. Fix. Fight. This is our enduring purpose.

For the A4 Enterprise, the “Fix” is our domain.

From maintainers generating sorties on the flightline, civil engineers repairing runways under pressure, to defenders securing our power projection platforms, the “Fix” represents the fundamental, non-negotiable work our Airmen do to ensure the U.S. Air Force remains the most lethal and respected force in the world.

Air superiority doesn’t happen by accident. It is engineered, sustained, and protected every single day across the Enterprise.

WELCOME TO THE @101starw SECURITY FORCES SQUADRON, PIERSON! 🇺🇸

From @usarmy #Infantry to the Maine Air National Guard SF— Pierson has already answered the call to serve, and now he’s bringing that experience to the Defender family.

Why Security Forces? Because the #mission doesn’t happen without us😤

As #Defenders, we protect the people, aircrafts, resources, and installations that keep the #AirForce moving. It’s a job that demands discipline, teamwork, leadership, and the ability to perform when it #matters most.

And you don’t do it alone.

Pierson is joining a team led by Capt. Stevens, who served all the ranks until E-9 before commissioning and understands what it takes to build great Defenders and great leaders. From the top down, this is a team that takes care of its people and gets after the mission. 💪

Oh… and there’s a pretty good welcome package, too. 👀💰 Pierson locked in a $10,000 enlistment bonus while making the move to the Maine Air National Guard!

Already served? New or Still serving in any branch and looking for your next mission? Want to keep wearing the uniform ? Welcome to building your future with the MAINEiacs.

You matter and your life dreams mater… Theres’s a place for you here at @101starw SF Squadron.

Welcome Pierson. Let’s get to work. 🔥🇺🇸

What if the person you’re capable of becoming is waiting on you to take the first step?

These Airmen of the 150th Security Forces Squadron, New Mexico Air National Guard, are putting in the work during upgrade training, sharpening their skills, building confidence, and preparing for the mission.

Because being an Airman isn’t just about wearing the uniform. It’s about discipline, teamwork, growth, and becoming someone others can count on.

And you don’t have to put your future on hold to serve.

The Air National Guard gives you the opportunity to serve your state and country, pursue your education, build a career, and still be there for the people who matter most.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to be willing to take the first step.

Your future. Your mission. Your choice. 🇺🇸

DM me if you’re ready to find out what you’re capable of.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.🇺🇸

Team Kirtland came together for the 25th anniversary 9/11 memorial ceremony and ruck to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and the first responders who answered the call and ran toward danger when our nation needed them most.

Col. Alexander Liggett, 377th Security Forces Group commander, gave his remarks reflecting on the courage, selflessness and sacrifice of firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel and all who responded in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Today, we pause to remember the victims, their families, and the countless Americans who united in service, resilience and resolve in the days that followed.

25 years later, their stories continue to remind us of the strength of our nation and the enduring meaning of service before self.
